Thanks for unearthing the original. I don't think I have seen that one actually. Someone commented Mok was originally Mok Swagger but Mick Jagger did not like that. Little too close to home maybe.

Re: Rock and Rule (1983, 1987) / an obscure post-apocalyptic animated rock & roll film!
So, now I should at least explain a bit about WHY this film was brought to my attention:

The "rare" extended song in the first post (by Debbie Harry) was thought to be in a special language, an "angelic" language; that language is called "Enochian."

 Quoting: Angel

(This is my grande forte, so it was only natural that this film would grace my presence.)

I was asked to translate the song.

Unfortunately, the lyrics in the "Invocation Song" are not what others thought / hoped / expected.

But, there are other things here which may potentially reside within the same general ballpark...

...so to get even more crazy, the name of the protagonist is 'MOK.'

Well, there is a "cacodemon" with that exact same name within the "Enochian hierarchy":

'It' resides within the Air Watchtower:

watchtower-air

...and 'its' name would be written as such:

e-Ke-Oe-M

...and the main protagonist wants to summon a certain demon...

I won't speak of the demon's (real) name (nor the call to invoke / evoke it) but in the film, the end result is pretty much a dead-ringer for this:

10-ZAX

These people had no idea what they were (unknowingly) working with while making this film.

THANKS, 'MOC!'

Re: Rock and Rule (1983, 1987) / an obscure post-apocalyptic animated rock & roll film!
Rock & Rule was inspired by Nelvana's earlier TV special from 1978, The Devil and Daniel Mouse. Its distributor, MGM, acquired United Artists at the time and the new management team had no interest in it. As a result, it was never released in North America except for a limited release in Boston. It received minor attention in Germany, where it was screened at a film festival. It was funded in part by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, which had obtained the Canadian TV rights. A hard-to-find VHS was released at that time, followed by a laserdisc release. The film developed a cult following from repeated airings on HBO and Showtime and the circulation of bootleg VHS copies at comic book convention booths.

Gotta mention the movie Stunt Rock :)

I was 13 when this came out(1978) and saw it in the cinema, fantastic band, Sorcery, and I still have the sound track on vinyl which is rare and will cost you a bundle now....

It's a pretty vague cult movie starring Dutch actress Monique van de Ven (who made some fantastic movies with the great Rutger Hauer before this), it follows a stunt man and there's loads of live clips from heavy metal band Sorcery.....

The whole movie is here:

Enjoy!

My favorite song was (and still is) Wizard's Council, most of their songs seem to be about sacrificing young girls.... Gotta say, this is far superior to that Kiss movie that came out around the same time, Kiss Meets The Phantom of the Park which really was rather silly.... I was a huge Kiss fan at the time, a member of the Dutch Kiss Army but got out of that when they released that atrocious I Was Made For Loving You and got seriously involved with the punk movement, but that's another story....

Damn, this song is so good.... Here's a good version....

It may not be that cut and dry. I don't think anyone involved with the film knew of the things that I know and work with. (That stuff is even more obscure than this movie. Way more!)

I think this is more like one of the cases where something left a mark of its influence in a very obscure way, with not many eyes that can see it. These angels (and "demons") underpin the fabric of our reality.

Of course the people behind this film knew the details of esoteric satanic magick and weaved it into a "story". The fact is this movie is just a hypnosis tool and a means to cast a spell on the unsuspecting.I

Oh, and it's not harmless, per se; I didn't want to imply that I thought the film was. I probably should have written a disclaimer.

The material in the film is not really "structured(?)" in a way that would bring general harm to the casual viewer, but the movie is certainly NOT for children! Most material is stuff like an occasional inverted pentagram, etc. very mundane and cliche stuff. Some of it is a little more hidden, but then you have a "Club 666" in the movie; again, rather mundane and "expected."

I feel that the US release is rather blasphemous because it changes the opening dialog and then lures people into something that they should have been prepared for. Granted, its no Uritsukidoji, because that would be utterly horrible. (Don't ever watch that one!)

It's tasteless and cruel to lead viewers into certain territory. That said, the simple mention of this particular "demon" as named in the film, one would also need the angels of Call and Command (which I will not name here, unless desired.)

Hell, there's even a demon named "MOP" but those never hurt anyone ...except maybe Jeffrey Dahmer.
