The full movie on YouTube that I posted isn't the best. I haven't looked at the Veoh link to see if it is the original.

Well shit. The Veoh links clocks in at 77 min so its definitely the edited version.

The Canadian version opens with DRATSCO instead of the Nelvana bear logo.

This might be what I have, though that's not where I found it :)

I'll have to check later tonight, because that's the one to get if it is true.

The 2 disc DVD has the Canadian version, but there are only about 4 copies available (used) on Amazon and that will set you back at least $90.

I'm thinking that this "fan restoration" is probably better than the DVD..

This passed into my radar field a few days ago. It is a very obscure animated movie with demons and satansim apparently?

It had music from Cheap Trick and Debbie Harry from Blondie, and some others.

Here is a rare extended version of one song with Debbie which people had been searching for years:

[link to youtu.be (secure)]

I haven't been able to find a copy yet, though I didn't look *that* hard yet.

It looks like the Canadian release is the one to get, as there seems to have been some censorship with other versions. Has anyone seen this one before???

It looks like it flopped hard in theaters, barely making $30K on a budget of $8M. Ouch!

Edit!

Well holy hell, look what I found:

Thanks for unearthing the original. I don't think I have seen that one actually. Someone commented Mok was originally Mok Swagger but Mick Jagger did not like that. Little too close to home maybe.

It's not THAT obscure. Come on, maaaan! I used to rent it from the video store. Feisty rock lovers against the big evil rock star Mok, voiced by Iggy Pop. His theme song is by Lou Reed and is pretty rad actually. Edit: Found out Iggy only did some songs, not the speaking voice.

 Quoting: Revolution of Consciousness

Mok's voice is fucking superb. He's like the PERFECT villain character, and you can't not like him! I rarely see that in any film.

Oh yes that shit was rotoscoped, which is why it looks amazing. There was quite a bit of that in Heavy Metal, the artists draw over actual recorded film footage and it just looks insanely good.

Check that the runtime isn't 77 minutes, because that is the "hacked up" version.

I kind of expected it to be on Prime, but I didn't check (I also didn't expect the original release to be there, which is why I didn't check :)
