It was reported that he was seen holding a shotgun through his window. I seriously doubt that brandishing laws apply if you are inside your own home. The crowd was heard calling him probation Pete; I suspect that maybe he wasn't allowed to have weapons at all due to the terms of probation or having committed a felony. It seems more likely than that they just arrested him for holding a shotgun in his own home.

I actually have a problem with the laws that ban people with "criminal records" from possessing firearms though. It's not constitutional and makes it easy for the government to remove your 2nd amendment rights just by charging you with some bullshit. The 2nd amendment doesn't include a clause that follows "shall not be infringed" with "except if the government decides you broke one of their laws". The intention of the 2nd amendment was to guard against government tyranny and this defeats that purpose.

In truth, attacking and intimidation peoples homes is not free speech or freedom of assembly because the one being protested is being denied their own rights of privacy, freedom to speak or assembly of their own choics on their own or on public property.
