He lost a lung to cancer in his 30s, which is extremely rare. 10 years later, he functions as normal, fit as a fiddle. On Sunday we kayaked 10 super-winding miles, for example. It was initially scary hearing about the bi-lateral pneumonia in young people. At 46 years old, even though he is healthy as can be, one lung would make him a goner. I really wanted him to stay home and isolate. He didn't. He simply washed his hands a lot like always and got a lot of fresh air and sunshine like always. He continued working (outdoors) and still shopping and doing everything as normal, being around all the kids and such. He had survived stage 3 lung cancer, he sure AF wasn't going to stop living now. He couldn't wait to go out to eat, and has been doing all the things he can just like normal. Fast forward 6 months - he's not had a sniffle. Thank goodness he listened to his body and not the experts. He would have missed out on 6 months of life he never expected to have. |
