Anyone here ever volunteer to be an election worker?

I did, for the first time 4 years ago. I think it should be required for everyone to work a poll at least once.

You do it once and trust me, you will learn something as people in general are crazy and election day brings them out but its a wonderful feeling knowing you are doing something so important.

I actually had to have a talk with a fellow poll worker, she was a slight crazed harmless old lady but she was greeting voters as if all were voting for her candidate. She actually thought all were.

I had to take her aside and explain what she thought was harmless casual conversation could be offensive to someone and how much trouble she could get herself in.

It takes lots of civic minded folks to pull all of this off so YES contact your local election board today as you must have a day of training and you are running out of time.
