It probably converts the .avi to a format that will play, i think most dvd players will play a file encoded to mpeg2, it deppends on the resolution and bitrate of the encode though. Im not entirely sure myself. There is NO PROFIT IN PEACE, There is NO PROPHET IN PEACE. Resident GLP Religion HATER and PROUD Atheist. Anonymous Coward User ID: 239210 Canada 10/13/2007 07:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | All these different formats and sizes for video...it's driving me nuts! Quoting: FIFTH INSTARCan someone tell me how to get an avi movie that plays with windows media player to play on a dvd player? I want to start distributing some truth movies to people I know, but they have dvd players and no computer... Depends on the DVD player. Most will not play AVI, so you will have to convert the files from Avi to .vob Do a search on a place like [link to www.doom9.org] There are tons of programs available to convert avi to vob files but you gotta have time to try it out because not always will the conversion be accepted on all DVD players. Some are picky. |

Also I suspect that since you said 'truth' movies you actually have divx or xvid mpeg 4 files. I've also found TotalConverter to be an easy to use conversion all in one program. Hope it Helps. V |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 311855Yeah...I've had some issues like that as well, it's why I have so many different programs, because sometimes one works perfectly and then on a different file it won't so I try something else. I'd say grab WinAVI and try that next. V |
