OKAY - HOW DO YOU GET A .AVI MOVIE ONTO A DISC THAT CAN PLAY ON A DVD PLAYER?

Sorry im only joking, you can probably use a program like NERO to author dvds.

It probably converts the .avi to a format that will play, i think most dvd players will play a file encoded to mpeg2, it deppends on the resolution and bitrate of the encode though.

Im not entirely sure myself.

You may be in luck today but I am not totally sure. Go to www.giveawayoftheday.com and for today only they are having a DVD burning and coverting software full version free download. Its getting some good reviews and I am about to download it after this. May or may not be what you need but go take a look at it.

Depends on the DVD player. Most will not play AVI, so you will have to convert the files from Avi to .vob

There are tons of programs available to convert avi to vob files but you gotta have time to try it out because not always will the conversion be accepted on all DVD players.

Some are picky.

I use many different programs depending on the format, but you can use WinAVI to go from avi to DVD.

Also I suspect that since you said 'truth' movies you actually have divx or xvid mpeg 4 files.

I've also found TotalConverter to be an easy to use conversion all in one program.

Get a DivX DVD player.

I just tried converting an divx movie to dvd using total video converter, the video was great but the audio was out of synch.

Yeah...I've had some issues like that as well, it's why I have so many different programs, because sometimes one works perfectly and then on a different file it won't so I try something else.

I'd say grab WinAVI and try that next.

Convert the AVI to Mpeg4 with any of many free conversion programs.

Great program!! I've used it for over a year with no problems. There used to be a freeware version but probably no one was buying the shareware version so they stopped offering it.

Divx Pro is the best. ju st have to have a xvid playable dvd player.. is a drag and drop burnable program very fast and reliable

checkout xilisoft

w/ nero and most tools it takes one divx and converts it to std dvd format eating up the whole disk

w/ one of the xilisoft tools ( divx to dvd ??? ) you can put multiple divx on a dvd

i also use their divx to psp tool ... works awesome ... always leave a few scooby-doo episodes on the memory stick for the kids !!!
