Only knew him through Cyberspace Orbit and this site which grew from it. So many years ago. I actually don't recall when I ran across these sites. Back in the early days of the internet, if you were searching for any kind of fringey subject you wound up running across these sites.

The combination of open inquiry and high degrees of freedom of expression combined with anonymous posting made for a wild ride. Some of the earliest types of info I remember as being unique to this place were the speculations about the comets newly being discovered and the SOHO sun observatories. They came online about 1996 so I know I was well acquainted with these sites by then and I have been an avid observer and sometimes participant ever since. That makes like 24 years. Mind blowing.
