Putin wanted to blow up Beirut 4 years ago, in January 2016, but Turkey killed his top spy! Russia's military intelligence chief killed in secret operation in Lebanon The Kremlin announced the death of Sergun on January 4, saying that he died in Moscow after a heart attack. According to a diplomatic source in London quoted by al-Akhbar, Sergun was killed in a complicated secret mission that several Arab and Middle Eastern intelligence agencies took part it. The diplomatic source hinted that Turkey was involved in Sergun's assassination, and claimed that Ankara's involvement resulted in Russia's decision to confront Turkey, which increased tensions between the states on the Syrian front. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76658155 Putin's next target is Ukraine, 9,600 tonnes of ammonium nitrate are stored on board Trump D! 9,600 tonnes of ammonium nitrate stored in Ukraine’s Pivdennyi port The ammonium nitrate is on board Trump D (former SeaBreeze) grain carrier, which has been detained in the port for over two years. The state-owned commercial port operator Pivdennyi (Pivdenny, formerly Yuzhny) in the Odesa region claimed that the ammonium nitrate (which is three times more the volume that obliterated the port of Beirut in Lebanon) in moorings No. 1 and No. 2 poses no explosion risk. [ link to www.portseurope.com (secure)] Putin is using Trump D to blow up Ukrainian port! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 76658155 Sounds like an MO to me Use a ship loaded with what is presumably ammonium nitrate as a weapon, and use some shipping violation as a reason to get it detained. It is idiotic not to offload it and just distribute it to farmers. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 79240841 Distribute it to farmers? Lol. This was a strategic source of explosives for Hezbollah and Assad. Sending shipments of ammonium nitrate through Syrian ports was too risky. The road from the ports to Damascus was too long and cut off in several places by the rebels. The road from Beirut to Damascus was shorter and under friendly control. So Russia sent the ammonium nitrate to Beirut so that when Damascus needed it Hezbollah was able to send some.
