Anyone knows how to take over the moderation of this thread?

Trying to temporary reduce the vulgarity until CoronaCoaster is back again, which I believe one day he will, thanks.

Not sure that's possible but someone better than me might know.

I'm done for a while on GLP except for the lurk.

I learned the hard way. It can't be done. I asked that question on the main thread and it caused all kinds of trouble.

Just keep reporting the junk. The mods will step in.

i'll add to that. i'd b sure to use the BEST PPE u can get your hands on with or without a vax. even with the vax,the best tactic is the same -AVOID CATCHING IT.

i reported yesterday that i got a call and my step-dad is now sick with covid. recently he helped me get a car.so i have been around him once a few weeks back and once a month or so before.not knowing exactly when he got exposed, i could have been exposed. thankfully, i did have my P-100 mask, gloves, and goggles. i did not even smoke a cig while he drove us places. tried to b as careful as i could.

so far i and the GF are not showing any signs. we feel confident that we are not infected. the odds say he got infected where he lives. a high rise apt building for elderly and disables. with other workers such as home health nurses coming in and out. not a nursing home but has similar traits.

we all do the best we can. and we live as practical as we can also. i understand that not everyone can live as hermits and some ppl can . all we can do.
 Quoting: JAZZz50

"AVOID CATCHING IT." Absolutely agree. Unfortunately, the majority of the worlds workers do not have that luxury and have to work that day to eat that night. Being a hermit for a couple of years in your 30's, 40's or 50's is possible for some people. However, when your allotted 3 score years and 10 is approaching or has passed, it's a little more difficult to be so sanguine.
 Quoting: Lago

Jazz... I'm really sorry to hear about your stepdad... I think you are probably safe, if it has been weeks since you have seen him, and hope he will be ok.

I'm doing my level best to avoid catching this damn thing. I haven't been wearing my mask at mom's house, because she wants to see and touch my face, and she's terribly hard of hearing, and the mask makes it worse. She has developed a lot of cognitive issues since her decline, which are normal in the dying. Taking my mask off means more exposure (not all of the caregivers are masked, for the same reasons I'm not.) That's a risk I am willing to take to be there for my dying mother. I wear a mask every other time I leave the house for any reason, and my roommates and I are all wearing kn94 or n95 masks. We are also all vaxxed, for better or worse.

I did see that Pierre Kory, one of the Ivermectin FLCCC gurus, caught Covid despite being on the iMask protocol. They are recommending upping the IVM dose to at least twice a week, but (for whatever reason) he was still doing once a week, and he caught it. It seems to have been a very mild case, though, and he seems to have recovered in a matter of days. I don't know if he's vaxxed, but I doubt it. A lot of that crowd has chosen to forego the vax.

I've been doing IVM twice a week for a while, and 3 times a week since I've been having exposure to people. My hope is that is enough to keep me from catching it, and if I do, that it will be mild and easily managed.

Yes, most of us need to work, and for many of us, that means working in person. That also means being vaccinated for most people, since most employers are requiring the vax.

I'm sure my already shoddy immune system is utterly crashed at this point, from all the stress. I'm doing the best I can, and have weighed my priorities. My mom is my number one priority, above my own health, and I want to do whatever I can to ease her anxiety at the end of her life.

24 hours later, presently experiencing chills, pain at jab site & dizziness. All of which is worse than the 2nd Moderna shot. Would not/could not drive anywhere! This was only supposed to be 1/2 dose! Had to take a Norco pill at 3.00 a.m in order to sleep.

I think at this stage, it isn't even the virus that is our biggest problem. It's the way we are dealing with it, and the utter collapse of civility, manners, motivation and reward.

I just don't want to interact with "it" until it comes to its senses!!!

Lago - you sound like you've probably got it together better than me. But I am trying. I won't die of thirst!

I am not afraid of dying either..especially for my loved-ones welfare.. and I would defend my line in the sand with my life.

Edit: I am also blessed that everyone in my live-in family has reasonable health, and feels the same about the vax.. not so regarding distant family, however.

Edit2: Lago, I am currently enjoying a nip of Glen Moray 1994 Distillery Edition (sherry cask finish)..
I Liked it so much,m I bought 10 bottles from the distillery and then it won the World Whisky Award for best SpeysideSingle Malt Single Cask!! (only ~650 bottles..) mmmmmm dreamy. The finish lasts for about 60s..(I timed it!)

Wow.. Remember what the world was like 46y ago? And that was just the time in the cask!

EDIT: dunno if a nip is recommended after Moderna.. but perhaps nicotine can help calm the neurotoxic side-effects of the spike. Not joking.
Hope you feel better soon.

I drank a quarter of a handle of Tito's after each of my jabs of Moderna, and for what it's worth I had zero side effects aside from a raised red rash on my arm for 3 or 4 days after the second jab.

Didn't do it to ward off side effects, that's just where I was at in life at the time.

And chewed at least a tin of skoal per day.

Thank you so much! My Naval officer son and his recently engaged girlfriend MAY be be able to visit us on the west coast for New years Eve. A Carsebridge whisky (or two) on New Years Eve in front of a living room fire (one year we had to turn on the AC while watching the fire). 70 plus evening temp in southern Cal on New Years Eve?
