wouldn't we see 2 distinct sets of variants? assuming there were 2 at start, 1 would have caused more deaths than another.treatments would need adjusting from vers X to vers Y as well.

Could this be the effects of Delta variant circulating around schools? It might also partly explain why younger age groups are the majority of covid cases atm. If covid is doing the rounds in schools, then those children will be passing it on to their parents. those parents will most likely be going out to work and/or shops and contributing to the spread. Same goes for Uni students.

Can't say for sure if the younger age groups are a bit more lax with their use of ppe than the older folks will be, or whether vaccines are having an effect on the distribution of cases (as per the graph covid19sars2.0 posted last night). India did report a disproportionate number of positive cases in the lower age groups and their vaccination programme is not as far advanced as ours so maybe there is something in that.

think that makes sense, but it is still quite early..
