A Kaiser nurse I was talking to this weekend told me she had gotten both vaccine shots, Pfizer. First in mid Dec and second 3 weeks later.

She said she had absolutely NO after effects.

Her husband took the Moderna shots in January/Feb as he works for a school district and he had NO bad effects afterwards either.

We talked about how the shots are a gamble; some people die, some get very sick, some have no problem. I told her I wanted to wait a year and see what develops.

Her rationale was to protect herself due to being a front line healthcare worker and to protect the grandparents, who also watch her kids regularly. She said she does worry about bringing the virus home to her family and is very mindful and careful when she gets home.

Right now there is a lull in our area fortunately.

Had a covid test this weekend.

Kaiser does not use the swab thingy. Rather they use what looks like a long tiny bottle brush. Throat and then nose.

Didn't hurt but eyes did tear up afterwards. Fast results, which were negative (may that always be the case).

Synopsis

A new double mutated strain of SARS CoV2 has been detected in second wave... This new mutated virus has the potential to skip the immunity and even vaccine. This is the reason for re-infection cases and cases among vaccinated people. It is more infectious and affecting younger population of 18 to 45 years group and this group is 'super spreader. Bypassing RT-PCR - new COVID may not be detected by routine RT-PCR test. R-value is increasing.
