Britons with first dose of Covid vaccine ‘have become infected with variants’

Dr Susan Hopkins has urged people to ‘take caution’ as India variant emerges in the UK

Britons who have received their first vaccine dose have subsequently become infected by variants of Covid-19, NHS Track and Trace’s chief medical adviser has said.

Dr Susan Hopkins told the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show that both the South African and Kent variant have been identified in people “who have had their first dose of vaccine”.

“That’s to be expected, we know that these vaccines aren’t 100 per cent protecting you against infection and that’s why we ask people to take caution,” she said.

Revealed: UK cases of Indian variant of coronavirus which scientists fear may evade current vaccines DOUBLE in a week to 160

Professor Paul Hunter, an epidemiologist at the University of East Anglia, analysed publicly available information on new variant numbers last Saturday and again yesterday and found that the number of genetically-confirmed Indian strain cases had risen in a week from 79 to 160. 'That's a big jump,' he said.

Because only around a quarter of identified Covid cases undergo genomic sequencing to identify the strain, he feared the true figure was at least 400.

Georgia Aquarium: Otters test positive for virus that causes COVID-19

The Georgia Aquarium said in a statement that officials believe the disease was transmitted to the otters by an asymptomatic staff member, despite health and safety protocols in place.

Aquarium officials said the otters began exhibiting mild respiratory symptoms such as sneezing, runny noses and mild lethargy. Some even had a cough.

My close friend, whose immune system is similar to mine, got the Moderna vax almost 2 weeks ago. He got quite sick (including 103 degree fever) for several days, and he STILL has symptoms.

I am thinking no Moderna for me. He's going to contact his doc to see if he should even get the second dose.

I got word tonight that a young mother of three died very suddenly of sepsis. I attempted to research this as a potential side effect of the vaccinations. Has anyone heard or read if this could be a possible side effect?

When I researched, I found a standard list of side effects that seemed to be copied and pasted from document to document. Those are the standard side effects.

Rumor and based on case studies plus a few anecdotes.....

They probably had COVID-19 and did not know it. Several case studies should that sepsis occurs because the virus caused more damage than people realized.... shot spot occurs and a few months later.... BAM.

The vaccine probably pushed her body over the edge. There are still sepsis deaths in the us. But strides have been made in the past 10 years. My little man is proof that sepsis doesn’t have to be lost limb or life, but only if caught and treated properly.

I warned of this 2-3 weeks ago

" Winter is Not Over "

From that article,

The chill from early this week across the Plains, Great Lakes and even much of the South will continue through most of the week, suggested Pastelok. It will then briefly start to moderate before a potential surge of cold air moves into the Plains and Midwest toward next weekend. Chilly air may not retreat for a couple of weeks.

In response to Jazzz50, I don't think that the vaccines are going to solve the problem. I was discussing that with someone this weekend and made that very comment.

Further, right now, the United States is an island ready to be attacked by different variants from all sides. What will happen to all of the vaxxed with the new variants?

It is all unknown.

I sometimes have empathic tendencies, and all weekend, I am feeling like Hiroshima is about to take place, making it look like a picnic. Itcould be because I had so much work this weekend, but that is the thought that kept coming to the surface regarding Covid.

Some things to Ponder....

You say,
" the United States is an island ready to be attacked "

It IS in Fact
As WWIII Gets up Steam
We Now Have Open Borders
In addition to 500,000 Enemies Already ON Soil
AND "Pandemic"

You Say,
" I sometimes have empathic tendencies, and all weekend,
I am feeling like Hiroshima is about to take place "

It is.
Worse than Hiroshima is About to Befall 'Merka
You Are Empathic.

You think I pull this poop out of the ether.... no, dumbass. I was a researcher and report writer for most of my life. I am not ashamed to admit that I lost my higher math functionality (I always share so that others might find their own path in times of Oh Fuck, now what?).

I did not lose my ability to research and see patterns. And immunodeficiency folks plus mono blah antibodies is a BAD FUCKING IDEA...why?

Here, read this.... and yes it says may because they have to. I have read more case studies since this.... it’s not a may.... it is happening with regularity.

U.K. variant puts spotlight on immunocompromised patients’ role in the COVID-19 pandemic

Less than 50%

People with a weakened immune system may give the virus this opportunity, as Gupta’s data show. More evidence comes from a paper published in The New England Journal of Medicine on 3 December that described an immunocompromised patient in Boston infected with SARS-CoV-2 for 154 days before he died. Again, the researchers found several mutations, including N501Y. “It suggests that you can get relatively large numbers of mutations happening over a relatively short period of time within an individual patient,” says William Hanage of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, one of the authors. (In patients who are infected for a few days and then clear the virus, there simply is not enough time for this, he says.) When such patients are given antibody treatments for COVID-19 late in their disease course, there may already be so many variants present that one of them is resistant, Goldstein says.

You mean life gets hard because the modern world eroded? I am unfortunately prepared for that.

By this virus .... no. I refuse to be a victim to a pandemic that 50% or more of adults refuse to make a few years of sacrifices to help more reach the other side.

And we haven’t even reached the next phases of COVID-19 the disease. This is unfortunately just one leg of a many legged fucked up journey.
