Cats/dogs symptomatic with the b117 variant? I don't remember there being reports of cats/dogs becoming symptomatic last year during the time of the earlier variants/strains?

Researchers at Texas A&M’s Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences department have confirmed a cat and dog living in the same house have contracted the UK variant of COVID-19 B.1.1.7.

All of the animals enrolled in their study, about 450 so far, live in Brazos County and live inside homes where a human tested positive for COVID-19. About 60 animals have been confirmed with COVID-19, and a quarter of those animals showed mild symptoms like lack of energy, sneezing and diarrhea.

on the animal lists we had several zoo's with wild cats, the minks, think we had a house cat down south SC maybe. i do recall a story of apes ,mighta been a gorilla, in a zoo, think it was CA.

so far no domesticated farm animals. oh and studies of the prions included ferrets, relative to the mink.

More info on the outbreak in in Cambodia.

the World Health Organization (WHO) has said, warning that the Southeast Asian nation is on the verge of a “national tragedy”.

In less than a week, Cambodia has recorded more than 1,000 cases of the virus. As of Wednesday, 35 people had died.

The outbreak appears to have been caused by quarantine breaches and there have been cases in the clothing factories which employee many.

Still seems no need to panic to me. 1,000 in a week when in the UK we are opening everything back up with more than that in a day, even with a population of 16m
 Quoting: lightning1977

The case counts in some of these Asian countries often doesn't seem to match up with the reports of how bad the situation is. Perhaps the testing isn't widely used as it is in Europe/USA? Not sure.

In the past few weeks there's been reports from Japan and Thailand about their case counts which don't seem that high on the face of it, but you get the feeling from the reports the situation is more serious than their case count suggests.

Already I've seen reports they are struggling to cope with the amount of deaths. Probably their covid deaths are an undercount or they haven't registered them all yet? Either way it's going to get really rough in there in the next few weeks... the number of cases they have today suggests it will be at around 3-4k daily deaths in two weeks time. And if cases keep rising which I suspect they will I think there will be 10k daily deaths at minimum, and that's the reported ones, the unreported could be much larger.

Let’s set some groundwork... this virus is a CORONAVIRUS and it is NOT natural.

And then you must have missed the discussions about the chicken fuckup..... and it’s big. If they can’t make this vaccine because modern society failed.... odds of having chickens are pretty Fucking slim.

This chicken vaccine makes its virus more dangerous

Less than 50%

But a chicken virus that represents one of the deadliest germs in history breaks from this conventional wisdom, thanks to an inadvertent effect from a vaccine. Chickens vaccinated against Marek’s disease rarely get sick. But the vaccine does not prevent them from spreading Marek’s to unvaccinated birds.

[link to www.pbs.org (secure)]
 Quoting: CleverCreator

I'm well aware of Marek's, I have had chickens for many years. Vaccines behave differently in different organisms. We are talking humans.

I understand it's a CoV.

As for 'natural', that's a wonky term. Coronaviruses have been around a long damn time. There has been a vaccine for canine CoV for years, and it hasn't made things worse. The most reasonable explanation is that SARS2 is an escaped, failed attempt at a vax for HIV. Regardless whether it's natural or manipulated, it's still a virus.

My question stands, but, I'll be more specific. Name one human virus that has gotten worse with vaccination.

There are a lot of things to be worried about with COVID and SARS2, IMO, this is not one of them.
 Quoting: NawtyBits

"The most reasonable explanation is that SARS2 is an escaped, failed attempt at a vax for HIV." Thats interesting, I have not heard that one before. Would you care to elaborate?
 Quoting: Lago

Sure. About a year ago, give or take, it was reported that one of the things that the Wuhan lab was working on was a vax for HIV. They were using CoV as the building block for this HIV vax. This would explain why there were portions of the genetic sequence that may resemble HIV genetics. And would explain why SARS2 can cloak itself from T-cells, like HIV.

This research was partially funded by several 1st World Countries, including the US. Which is normal. The US funds and collaborates with labs all over the world. This, too is normal.

There is no big conspiracy here. It just looks to me like an accidental lab release.

Occam's Razor.

(As an aside, viruses make VERY BAD bioweapons. Even if you have a vax, once you release it in to the wild, it will mutate. Possibly around your vax. No major world power would use a virus as a first strike weapon. There are too many unknowns, and you could kill all your own troops in the process.)
 Quoting: NawtyBits

Nawtybits..Thanks for the info, very interesting piece of the puzzle. Your thread is very informative, I must have missed that bit.

Even if the cases in India rose to 1 million per day, it would take almost 4 years to infect the entire population and about three years to obtain this mythical herd immunity.
