In the 30's people grew a lot of their own food. Today we are foooked.

Also, in the depression of the 20s, many could leave the cities and go back to living on the farm.

Corporate Capitalism bankrupted all the family farms and bought them out, forcing people to work in the cities.

The same thing happened in Mexico with NAFTA where American AG killed all the subsistence farmers and not long after, you had a rush of illegals coming to our country.

Corporate Capitalism is to blame for a lot of our problems.
They want to buy out and own everything for $$$$$$ and leave nothing for anyone to fall back on.

It largely willbe nightmarish as many will be homeless and expect the government to take care of them. They have zero practical skills they can offer as barter. People during the Great Depression were their opposites.

If they rent homes they may sell them and then out go the tenants. Homes outside of cities are selling fast.

Everything has increased except wages. People are living way beyond their means. CC debt, student loans and health care are major costs. In the 70's you could buy a house for what a car cost today.

Not even close. People actually starved to death back then. Govco will give you an EBT card. You can make $700/month selling plasma (more if you have had Covid), unemployment, etc. Safety nets exist now. They didn’t 100 years ago.

Most of the population lives in urban areas. Prior to 1940s, most lived in rural areas. No fast food dollar menus, no dollar stores.
