It looks like fucking sheer bedlam where the law abiding are on their own.

Everyone better be armed everywhere they go as well as have their permission slip (i.e. CCW license) if required in your locality and a firm grasp of the law regarding lethal force. Having an attorney specializing in self defense on retainer wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Me personally, I work for a major utility in my area. I am armed. My company frowns on that. I know, God forbid, if I have to use it - I'm fired. I don't give a flying Fuck as long as I'm golden in the eyes of the law (permission slip, righteous shoot, legally obtained firearm, etc.). I will deal with the fallout of shooting/killing a scumbag. It will be a draining affair but I will be alive.

I'm not a tough guy and I hope I am never put in a position where I need to test my preparation.
