Fed Ex driver refuses to help elderly man that fell on his porch

There was an old man talking to the black fed ex guy around here, he must wait all day to have someone to talk to... you could tell the driver was being really short with the guy but he was nice.

Don't care about policy. What happened to being a decent human being helping your fellow man? Are those just non-existent now that "policies" have taken their place? Are people now so scared to get fired that it has overpowered an individual's drive to be a good person?

He may of had an excuse but there is a point where You have to decide are You going to be part of the problem or part of the solution. The problem is We live in a cruel selfish world and one act of kindness can cause ripples that spread outward. I for one would have helped Him up and sat Him in the chair and asked Him if He needed 911 and if so I would have called the authorities and then hauled ass if I had a busy schedule.

At least it was a REAL FedEx driver and the old man didnt get SHOT.

Honestly that guy is a fucking dick because I'll put it this way I've had the same mail man, ups man, and fed ex man for years and I generally wave at them because they are faces I see quite frequently.

i have a lower back injury. even then i've helped an older neighbor get up from his chair. Yea, later on, i was home crying cause my back pain was killing me but at the time, humane thing to do is help. of course, is covid, maybe these drivers fear they will also get sick. But he could have at least called 911.
Anyway, i do have to say, after my last back injury, i don't think i would be able to personally help people, but i can at least call for help.

If the guy got a broken hip from a fall while driver was helping him ... the driver and company might be on the hook for medical bills

Okay, so its safe from civil action.

But what if you help the person, they die, and the state blames you and files criminal charges?
