The name refers to who first found it. Nothing more.
 Quoting: JoeNobHead

Usually that is the case but not with this one for some reason. This one is actually an acronym for

Near
Earth
Object
Wide-field
Infrared
Survey
Explorer

....so they tell us.

That mention of "infrared" in the name has me wondering if this is actually our first glimpse of Planet X / Nibiru discovered in 1984 by IRAS ("infrared astronomical satellite"). Guess we will find out.

It rises in the northeast around 3:30 AM. Where I live, the light is coming over the horizon at this time, so all other stars are fading from sight. Besides the moon, it's the brightest thing in the sky until sunrise.

I believe we on the cusp of ww3 Iran sabotage, Russia and Greece furious over Erdogan and the Hagia Sofia turning into a mosque, Christian Armenia border clashes v Muslim Azerbaijan, Lybia I believe has Russia interests v Turkish.. It has the appearance of Muslim against eastern orthodox Christian. Before world war one there was visible comet Enke, before ww2 was visible comet Horschel-Rigole .. unfortunately comets with that can be seen with the naked eye are bad omens.. of war plague and death.

Neo is from a funky cartoon my kids used to watch:

"Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water" Emperor Neo (TV Episode 1991)

Neo could also be...

Neo-Confucianism (Chinese) is a moral, ethical, and metaphysical Chinese philosophy influenced by Confucianism, and originated with Han Yu and Li Ao (772–841) in the Tang Dynasty, and became prominent during the Song and Ming dynasties.

This document has information from an ancient manuscript that during the last worldwide flooding, two comets were seen together.

[link to www.scribd.com (secure)]

This flooding event occurred between 2500-2700 BC, which would be the descending kaliyuga from your signature.

Comets Atlas, Swan and Neowise all are viewable in the same direction. Though, none of them are visible to the naked eye.

This is a newly discovered comet. But yet scientists say it has a 6,800 year orbit. If recently discovered how could they project its orbit?

Mathematics.

"Recent" means 4 months ago, there have been hundreds of observations.
If it weren't for all those pesky planets that can perturb its orbit it would be very simple.
