She plans to participate in oral arguments from the hospital on Wednesday, according to the release. In pain on Monday, Ginsburg went to Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington after hearing the first-ever Supreme Court teleconference of oral arguments. At Sibley, she was diagnosed with acute cholecystitis, a condition in which a gallstone migrates to the cystic duct. She nonetheless participated in arguments from home on Tuesday, but was in enough pain that she went to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore for treatment of the infected duct later Tuesday. Friends said the justice was in good spirits on Tuesday night, and watching the Metropolitan Opera on her iPad. [link to www.npr.org (secure)] |

IMHO the left needs the riots that will come if she dies and Trump moves ahead with a pick. Merrick Garland was a totally different issue (lame duck etc...) but I imagine there will be hell to pay. BTW he couldn't have been worse than Gorsuch. On another more compassionate note I do not believe there's anyone else alive who's dodged more health crises than RBG. I chose the Bright Side where my God fights for me. Others chose the Dark Side and fight for an entity that views them with disdain and discards them. |

They claim to have cleaned a bile duct stent so I'm assuming that's what got infected if they are telling the truth. She has now reportedly been placed on IV antibiotics for a couple days... As thousands of older people do each year, Roberts fell. The fall occurred on June 21, 2020 at a Maryland country club. Roberts cut his head and was hospitalized. The event, which had two precedents, was reportedly due to dehydration. Roberts is reportedly recovered and fine. [link to news.yahoo.com (secure)] |

Not somewhere you want to be if you can avoid it. So, it must be truly necessary. I do make an effort not to wish anyone ill, but hopefully she will take this most recent health setback as an indication that it's time to retire. However, given her previous statements, the only one who could persuade her to retire is the Grim Reaper. Maybe he will have a chat with her. |
