The Real History of Slavery
Europeans ended slavery!

A video by Thomas Sowell provides an in-depth discussion of slavery from 1600's on. Showing how it was not a European invention and how it was Europe that led the movement to abolish it. There were no easy choices for men like Washington, Jefferson or Lincoln because what could you do with 4 million newly freed slaves, many of whom owned no land, had few skills and bore ill will towards their former masters?.

Essential for your understanding in this time where US blacks feel entitled as the sole victims of slavery when in fact it has been all of humanity.

Another straw man...

Nobody is claiming to have been a slave or sole ownership of slavery...

The conversation continues NOT to be had because oppositional whites refuse to have the conversation about race in America, and acknowledge the black community’s disadvantages stem from systemic oppression in a system that was made for whites by whites.

The system can be made better we have done it before.

This does not undo America anymore than woman’s rights, or abolition.

Deflecting the conversation with topics like the OP, saying things like “golly gee did you know the first slave owner in America was black?”, all of this is a continued refusal to actually have substantive discussion on race in America, and continues to refuse acknowledging the role of white Americans in slavery and post slavery eras, as they continue to dogwhistle white supremacy rhetoric devoid of intermission.

Personal racism will never be eradicated, but systemic racism that remains from a bygone era can and should be corrected following an open honest dialogue about race in America including everyone.

Of course, anyone has the right to feel how they want to feel and always will.

Instead of being a part of the solution it seems many would rather obfuscate and clutch to old ways. It’s a shame because the kids are watching and we should be striving to set the best example we possibly can for them - all kids.

Of course all lives matter, including black lives, this is why the discussion is needed. Continuing to refuse to have the conversation leads us right back to where we already are which nobody wants.

Don’t you think it’s time to evolve and work together against the class warfare agitators and their masters?

Watch the video then let's discuss it. Claims about systemic and structural racism are disguised demands for advantages based solely on race. We've already been there, thanks.

So if you feel there is systemic racism in the US, why doesn't the black populace do their part in helping to fight major issues they have in their own community?
Like fatherless families, most of the violent crimes being committed by blacks, black on black murder sky-high, a very violent culture, where black hip hop stars perform to extremely profane, violent and sexualized content, leading to an idolized gang-style life by young blacks.
And I could go on and on.
Your black community certainly does not lead an Asian lifestyle, where education and hard work is most important for their young people.
I can see a lot of social problems stemming from these issues:
The Whites being fed up of the high crime rates and violent lifestyle of the black population and the Blacks yearning to be successful in life, but not through had work and education, but through becoming a hip hop star.
And since most people will never become a sports or hip hop star, they end up being frustrated and angry, since they will never be able to afford this nice Porsche.
And instead of admitting their own failures, they play the blame game, that all what went wrong in their lives was caused through white man's slavery.

I grew up in the 1960's and I could describe numerous examples of "systemic racism" from that era. Over the next two decades, not only were the barriers many black people faced in the US removed, but blacks in particular and other minorities in general were given distinct advantages in education, employment, financial assistance and more. Since candidates for public office discovered that pandering to minorities by promising them more and more freebies at the taxpayer's expense was an easy path to election, the entitlements continue to mount.

If your argument is that black people today still are at a disadvantage because of "systemic racism" from bygone eras, explain how.

Give me one example of any law, regulation or policy of any federal, state or local government or agency or get the fuck out.

LOL. Refuse to a have conversation about race? That's all the country talks about. Everything is about race and slavery. That's like claiming J**s never talk about the H0L0caust.

Whites are the only people who acknowledge slavery. Blacks Africans, Indians (india), Arabs, Chinese, and Latin Americans were far more involved in the slave trade than the US. They dealt in numbers of ten or tens of millions of slaves. The US 's role was 400,000, which was less than 1% of the global trade. Cuba alone imported almost twice as many slaves as the US. Does anyone ever call Cuba a slave island?

Blacks aren't victims of systemic oppression, they are beneficiaries of systemic advantage. For the past 60 years every law has been designed to transfer rights away from whites and to the construct "people of color".

Whites should have more rights in the countries they founded. The Africans, Asians, Arabs, etc., don't give equal rights to minorities or migrants. Why should whites?

Blacks should be given so part of the country for self-governance, but certainly not the whole country.

The ONLY thing I can agree with you on is the systemic racism.

Yes, it's there, and it's real, but it ain't caused by white conservatives.

It's caused by the policies, laws, and actions of white and black liberal Democrats, and it's been going on for decades.

Housing projects to keep black people poor and in the inner city. 3 strike laws that disproportionately affected black Americans. Welfare systems designed to keep black people on the govt dole. Planned parenthood clinics positioned in poor black areas. Affirmative Action.

All of these (and the list goes on) are from liberal Democrats.

We have been taught for decades that after LBJ signed the civil rights act, the parties "switched" and the Dems who had long been the enemy of black people (started the KKK, enacted Jim Crow laws, voted against civil rights, etc) suddenly became the champion of black rights.

This is just patently false.

Only 2 congressmen changed parties, Strom Thurmond and some other representative that doesn't matter.

What the Dems did, after losing the fight on civil rights, was they changed tactics. Instead of outwardly opposing black people and hating them, they put a carrot on the end of a stick to lead them away from prosperity. Like the abusive husband who buys his wife nice things to control her.

They found a way to put free black people back on the plantation.

Other than that, the rest of your post is pure written diarrhea.

Systemic racism my ass. America doesn’t have systemic racism. Much of the western world I’d argue doesn’t have systemic racism (unless one wanted to make the argument it’s racist against whites). In my company and my department we literally can’t hire a white person (make or female). HR says we have to keep looking, no matter that precious white candidates meet the requirements. We have other projects that have to meet a minimum quota or diversity (non white) or else there are financial repercussions.

I implore you to look at black America in the mid 1800’s after slavery ended. By and large blacks were becoming very successful not just in business, but in politics too. The south, was majority black republicans in government. Then the KKK came along to change that.

There are issues that need to be addressed aren’t race related, but “class” related. People who live in poor areas, regardless of race, have a more difficult time getting out of that situation. Hard work can do it, but I’d argue one in that situation would have to put in more hard work. School choice would be a HUGE step in changing this. Some studies have shown one of the biggest indicators of success is who is in ones social circle. Again, school choice could help change who one is affiliated with. The “champions” of the black community (Dems...LOL) want nothing to do with school choice.

More issues that we have that aren’t race related, income tax a complete joke. Get rid of income tax, people will have more and spend more and stimulate their local economy more. Local government could institute their own tax structure and not need funding from the national government. Funding from the national government is a good way to circumvent states abilities to legislate themselves. Because they “need” that money and must therefore comply with certain stipulations.

What about the content of our education systems? They don’t teach kids finances, credit ratings and it’s importance, real health (not the phony food pyramid), critical thinking (this is a huge one), or even an unbiased history.

What about the phony vaccine industry? You can’t find one study that uses a true placebo. They all use previous vaccines as a placebo. That’s a huge red flag. What about a study of anti vaccine vs vaccine. Again, NOPE. There is no proof vaccines help. The schedule keeps increasing, vaccines don’t give a lifetime immunity. So one must keep getting them, then they shed the virus (at a strength greater than the vaccine), and if around the shedder hasn’t reupped their vaccine, well then they get sick. That’s recipe for virus’s to never go away.

How about the mainstream propaganda machine? You know the ones that don’t even perform in-depth investigative reports. They just tell their audience what to believe. Most don’t even have time to read more than a headline.

What I’ve just listed are REAL issues that need to be solved, not some fake systemic racism BS. Get rid of the propaganda machine and system racism disappears.

Re: The Real History of Slavery

Black people pay taxes too. Being statistically more likely to be pulled over, get unlawfully searched, get murdered, get harassed by tax paid for law enforcement is one example. Another poster listed many others. Here’s the data [link to openpolicing.stanford.edu (secure)]

What will it take for us to move forward as a nation in your eyes?

More whites died to cops than blacks each year.

cops patrol higher crime areas, just a fact, just so happens blacks are hanging out in these areas at higher rates

This is the equivalent of a black chick going in mcdonalds and saying " oh you won't give me my refund cuz i'm black"

perhaps the case can be made that individual officers are racist, but that would mean examining their individual arrest records.

you can't just look at a blanket statistic and cry racism, there's more than likely an explanation to each and every case.

no it's not a systemic problem though, sorry

whats your explanation for blacks committing crimes at a much higher rate than whites?

that study doesn't include raw data

just some hard to follow charts

when you try and look at the raw data and the bottom, it won't let you

but since you mention blacks more likely to get murdered by cops, i'll just leave this here for you:

every year more whites got killed by cops than blacks

Sounds good, except you need people that can actually think, speak, listen, and share opinions!!!

Watch some WorldStar Videos and let me know if you could have an actual intelligent conversation with such people.

I do agree, we need to definitely take the TOP of the pyramid out, those funding this.

Shalom...

More WHITES were enslaved and shipped to North Africa than all Black slaves sent to North America.

And yes WHITES ended the J's slavery scheme in Britain and in the Americas..

Never in the history of the world has one race been raised up so high and so fast as has the ne gro race been raised up by the White race in the United States.

ne groes were allowed to stay in a 1st world White country and enjoy opportunities they never would have had had they been returned to Africa as they should have been. They are stone-age people who never could have risen to their present standard of living without the benevolence of White people.

They have benefited greatly from slavery and should be thankful for all that they have here. They haven't been held down. They have been raised up.

They enjoy the highest standard of living of any ne groes in the world. If they weren't in the U.S. they'd be living in some west African shit-hole.
