The idiot mayor and council couldn't imagine that, like the rest of us, they might need to reduce spending...

This will not be the last example of this we see in the months ahead, guaranteed.
 Quoting: Larry D. Croc

Typical Libitard herd think. They somehow believe that their taxes won’t affect them or their constituents. Primarily because many of the constituents do not make enough to be affected. What they never seem to understand is that these measures increase rents, and eventually kill an economy as business and property owners move to greener pastures. Then you get Detroit.

This of course is the intent among the well placed handlers, but the rest of their supporting idiots only realize it well after their neighborhoods go to shit as a result.

Time to remove them all.

BTW - I grew up in Memphis, and this is precisely what they did there. And we all see the results.

This is one way to deal with Dims that choose not to listen to their constituents. Watch as they gather the signatures they need in record time.

I was in Nashville a year ago and the Uber driver told me that people that were born in Nashville don't live in Nashville anymore. They were passively aggressively thrown out by housing over-pricing in recent years. It's basically a country music corporate Disney World.

I'm one of those people. I moved to Cheatham County just to the west of metro four years ago. Some idiot bought my working class home that I paid 80,000 for in 1998 for 400,000 and I bailed to a quiet dead end road in the country. I know my neighbors now and we all check on each other and help each other. Best decision I ever made in my life. Cheatham County is the last hold out in surrounding metro counties. Schools aren't so good, my kids are grown, but I can openly practice with my firearms and I pay less in taxes for 5 acres and a bigger house than I did for my 50s house and lot in Nashville. Just a couple of years ago they were talking about borrowing 9 billion for a public transportation system. I jokingly told my friends in Nashville at the time you should just borrow the money to build a space elevator.

I can't find the legislative documents online, but on the local news, it was time stamped 4:20.
They are going to legalize. They raised the taxes knowing they will legalize, then the prices will skyrocket into infinity around the city core (where Vanderbilt University is)
Can anyone find that? I can't locate the document.

BTW, we were never really a city. This is a town, a small town, surrounded by massive suburban growth.

No. It's because they borrowed half a billion dollars for a convention center that's not being used now. And built a new baseball stadium that's not being used now. And they built an amphitheater downtown that's no longer being used. And then there's just general mismanagement on top of all those borrowing sprees.

Nashville is growing WAY too fast.

Liberals flock to the latest hipster town and want all the amenities. Locals that have been there for generations foot the bill for the lifestyles of newcomers

OMG guys, after posting this I went to Norml, haven't been there in a while. Just today, District attorney of Davidson Country Metro Nashville says no more prosecutions for 1/2 ounce or under! Today, July 2, 2020. I knew it, they are preparing to legalize. The revenue will be irresistible at this point, especially with another legal rec state now only 230 miles away, Illinois, and bordering 2 others legal medical states, Missouri and Arkansas.

That's why they timestamped the tax legislation at 4:20. That will be the concession. I wonder how soon.

Can they simply foreclose on those structures? What if the public wants to give them back to the bank and cancel the loan, is that even possible?

that would be funny as hell though. Saying (*#(* you to the bankers and sport team owners in shafting the public for their pet projects. The ultimate form of a parasite.

the working people of that city needs to extend the middle finger and tell them they can have it, no more payments will be made.

Typical DIMocrats - they want to raise taxes which will ensure that those who do pay taxes will leave the city - bye bye tax base.

And because this thread deals with property taxes, I think we should have some kind of law stating only property owners can vote to raise property taxes. It's 100% bullshit that people who own no property get to vote on my property tax being increased.
