Re: St Louis homeowners come out with guns when protestors enter their neighborhood
1. becoming have nots vs haves
2. this will not be black vs white, yet.......
3. look at the French and Russian revolutions. They only have to topple the Government and take charge, they don't need a majority of the population, they will fall into line. France and Russia weren't bloodbaths or civil wars, not until after the revolution and power was taken.

The two obvious big revolutionary wars were USA and China. Others were quick and dirty skirmishes.

If people don't start standing up this will be over before you know it. If the security details and Armed forces don't stand up then the White House is taken, Government overthrown and America is no more.

France and Russia relied on their protection and when needed it wasn't there.

This may not be about years...................

Wrong a lot of the nots don't side with the protesters or the rich.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75359923

Yes, and they won't be part of the fight, just bystanders who will also be not's after the revolution.

While I don't necessarily agree with their tactics, which were inappropriate and tactically unsound, I think the message is clear that these homeowners aren't going to be easily intimidated. Interesting fact: The neighborhood the protestors are in is private property, including the streets. It's a very wealthy subdivision just north of Forest Park, on the west side of Kingshighway.

They are protecting their property which they have every right to do.

Mighta been clumsy... But it worked.

Unlike other riot torn spots, I didn't see any sprayed graffiti, bricks through windows, molotov's etc to the house :)

actually it's now a target.

check back in overnight when multiple bricks fly through multiple windows

Defending obscene wealth with threats of violence b/c it can’t be defended rationally
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77732452

NOBODY's defending 'obscene' wealth. What those people were defending is their home.

You do have one, don't you?

Would you rather sleep out on the street because some loony tune decided to torch yours?

It doesn't matter if you live in a shack or a castle. I don't know of anyone who WOULDN'T defend their home.

I dont like living in a big house.

I have before and it was a continuous pain in the ass, everyone having their hand on your wallet from the pool guy to the landscaper
I perfer to live in a modest home well within my means.

No matter how much money I had I wouldn't have bought that house

I wouldn't live in it if you gave it to me.

It has nothing to do with "envy" and more to do with the neighborHOOD.

Jealous you were a failure and failed at what you wanted to do with yourself

They are also Democrats.

This could be another inside job, a setup propaganda piece for the masses. Think about it.. Democrats, Lawyers, beautiful mansion, inexperienced gun owners; It has all the optics (they) want. How is it that the radicals randomly chose this area, this residence?
Seems like a movie scene to me. Being that this is the first high profile event like this, if it were real, would've looked and played out much differently. We need more info and connections..

We need more info and connections..

the fact is most people would probably get a charge out of seeing it torched and that is a fact.

No Indian has ever been jealous of any white man

cruise

Trust me on this.

I hate him because the things he has he robbed from someone else who actually did the work.

Got it now?

You are a fucking FAILURE

I'll wager everything I have you don't have one tenth the wealth I do, in land alone.

I don't have a tiny lot with a huge house 10 feet from the one next to it, but I dont want one either.

Oh you mean like you did to those two people defending their home

So you’re a hypocrite and a failure lol

Pitching a tent in the park to live in doesn’t mean the park is actually yours hobo

Even the children of the guy who built the house hated it:

“Following the death of Anna and Edward in 1936 the house remained the property of the Faust family but remained vacant for nearly 10 years. The mansion was threatened with demolition as the Faust children did not want anything to do with the mansion and deed restrictions prevented converting the home to a museum as they desired.”

Sounds like they had more sense than the current residents.

Looks a little excessive for a private residence. Maybe I’m a rube?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77732452

Be honest now! If you had lots of money, would you buy yourself a shack? My guess is you'd buy as much house as you could afford to. It just so happens that these people could afford to buy this home for themselves.

Do I detect a bit of jealousy on your part? The tenth commandment (NOT suggestion) says 'Thou shalt not covet'

A palace is not only a testament to the wealth of its owners, it is a celebration of the social contract. Only a public that is happy enough with its lot will allow a palace to peacefully exist in its midst. Otherwise, pitchforks etc. It’s not about jealousy, it’s about respect.

We dont need people living like that when a third of our kids are hungry RIGHT NOW. Its fucking absurd. ANd they are all assholes if you really get down to it.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10739329

ALL ASSHOLES? How do you KNOW? Do you know how much these people donate each year to charitable organizations - feeding the children, habitat for humanity, doctors without borders? The problem is YOU DON'T!!

How much have YOU donated to worthy causes? Most poor people I know don't because they can't afford to. Be thankful we have some well-off people who CAN afford to take up the slack.

Do you know why God blesses people in this world? He blesses people so that they in turn can use those blessings to bless others!

Luke 6
38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

2 Corinthians 9
6 The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
9 As it is written,
“He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever.”

Give a listen! Just maybe you'll learn something!

I'm not sure which part of they bought the money pit in disrepair and spent the last 30 years fixing and living in it. It's theirs, they have a right to protect it and to live where ever the hell they want to and can afford. That said y'all be talking about the man, when I find her stance interesting, one hand Nellie
