Vancouver here.

I walked from Gastown to Granville Island yesterday. The Market is practically dead and roped of with yellow caution tape, it looks like a crime scene.

I decided to not dine there but I picked up a small bocconcini salad pre measured at a deli counter $7.17 in a maybe 200g container. So not only is it really over priced these days the experience of shopping there is ruined.

I then hopped on a water taxi to cross over to the aquatic centre to walk the sea wall to English bay. The operator before we set sail and after we set sail asked me if I had a mask... Come on it is a water taxi and not an enclosed cabin, There was only one other passenger on the other side of the boat...

The after sun set I hoped on the #23 Shuttle bus from English Bay to Science World / Main Street Sky Train close to home.

I used my credit card for contatcless payment...


I take a seat, two actually one for me one for my leather backpack that I was not going to put on the floor. No problems the shuttle is not packed as it was going on to 10:00 PM on a Thursday night.

The automated voice system literally repeated every two minutes to "wear a mask if you are able too".

So a few blocks into the trip a lady who was sitting across the isle from me all taking up two seats alone says "Am I the only one who is wearing a mask"

The driver is masked up, the lady on front of me is masked up, so is some one else in the back of the shuttle, 4 out of six where wearing masks.

We all look at her and around each other and then she sheepishly says Oh I see others are too.

I then said I will not be shamed. And she says "Oh I never said that", and I said of course you did not come right out and say it, those are my words not yours.

That was the end of that noise.
