Re: Depressed, Waiting on Grandma to Die
She was spry and active until now, besides being 89.

Got a call this morning from her nursing home, she’s stopped eating, drinking, talking and walking... they called in hospice and ordered her a ‘comfort kit’ to have on standby. Said she has full body muscle pain and she yells if touched anywhere.

Said she has Covid. 8 workers tested positive and already had 7 patient deaths.

She basically raised me and I can’t go see her.

Gonna go get some beer.

Fuck

It's her soul separating from her body Dace.
It's painful, like very achy.
My Mom went through it to.
Don't drink, you'll miss it when she comes to tell you goodbye.

^ this ^

I sat by my mom for 72 hours straight, never leaving her side.
I grew so tired everyone told me to go home for a short nap.
At home, I still couldn't sleep so at 2:30 am I'm standing alone in the backyard and felt a wave of sorts pass around me.
I felt it was mom.

No sooner had I stepped back through the patio door the hospice nurse called and informed me she was gone.

I told the nurse about knowing it from the backyard incident and she told me that happens quite a lot.

So yes, I too would advise not drinking or dulling you senses until your loved one has passed.
