Egeneto anthropos apestalmenos para Theou onoma auto Ioanes. You notice that there is no indefinite article in front of anthropos, yet it still is to be rendered in English as "a man". Unless you want to translate it as, "And there came mankind sent from God whose name was John". And I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want to do that. |

Apostle Paul uses it this way many times in his letters when he writes something like "of men" (viz Rom 2:16), along with many other Hebraisms Paul employs in his epistles. However, when the noun form anthropos is used in the singular, it univerally means "a man". Otherwise, if the scribe employs the singular referring to "human", or "mankind", he will always use the adjectival form anthropinos. Last Edited by rev18_6 on 06/20/2020 04:01 AM |

Since that word refers to both men and women the verse literally could be: Here the wisdom is: the one having understanding let him count the number of the beast number because mankind's it is and the number of it is six hundred sixty six. Here's what I wanted to have in the op. St. Luke 16:11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? St. Luke 16:12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own? St. Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Mammon [link to biblehub.com (secure)] Definition: riches Usage: (Aramaic), riches, money, possessions, property. 3126 mammonas – a Semitic term for "the treasure a person trusts in" (J. Thayer) who is transliterated as "mammon." [3126 (mammonas) is probably an Aramaic term, related to the Hebrew term 'aman ("to trust," J. Thayer).] ...according to Gesenius (Thesaurus i., 552) contracted from מַטְמון, treasure (Genesis 43:23); cf. B. D., under the word; Edersheim, Jesus the Messiah, 2:269)), riches: Matthew 6:24 and Luke 16:13 (where it is personified and opposed to God; cf. Philippians 3:19); Luke 16:9, 11. ... St. Luke 12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. So the beast system is the kingdom(s) (Satan's kingdom) of the world. Men put their trust in it, and money, and are of the world. The only other place in the bible with 666 is when Solomon received as many talents of gold in 1 year. Again, the people of the world put their trust in money. To put one's trust and security in money is receiving the mark of the beast because no one must work for it, both beast and money, to buy and sell to live. Jesus gave a command to sell everything you possess and give to the poor. He also gave a command to buy a sword. He gives the command again to buy of him gold (treasure) in Revelation, referring to true riches, the Holy Spirit and the wisdom that comes from obedience to his commands. The Blessed One of God became as a curse to the people of the world, therefore to be as one cursed among the world is a blessing from God. This is why the foolishness of God is the wisdom of those who are being saved. |

Kingdoms Revelation 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. Revelation 17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. Revelation 17:13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. The beast gives power unto the beast? The number of the kingdom (beast) is 666, and man's number is of it (6), created on the 6th day. |
