Why would they turn the network off to do an update that needs the network to do the update?

This can all be done quietly while your phone has signal or during an update you have authorised or is auti on.

I'm not saying its nefarious. Numerous countries suddenly changed to the apple Google app for no reason.

In the UK yesterday, they announced they were changing to this, suddenly saying they had undisclosed problems with the old 4 month old app.

I read this would happen weeks ago.
It was announced the day a very prominent uk figure died.

It now uses an app run by companies who make virtually all of our phones. Oh but also own all of our search engines, video entertainment providers... cant think of obvious rest..

Fear mongering. This was added to iPhone like two updates ago, and is hard coded default off with no option to turn it on unless you install a third party tracking app, and give it the proper permissions.

BTW - most current burner flip-phones do have bluetooth now as well. You would have to buy an old one off ebay or something.
