Then why are so many Supreme Court decisions split?

If the highest court in the land can't agree on the law, how the hell is the average person suppose to be an expert on the law?

If you go to court, it's not the law you have to worry about, it's the assigned Judge's interpretation of it you have to worry about.

And why can't our Supreme Court justices be made up of people representative of society? Not all Roman Catholic and/or Ju ish, which is a rather narrow representation of society.
