The shooting occurred just after 4:30 p.m. in the unincorporated Kern County community of Rosamond, just north of the L.A. County border, a Sheriff’s Department statement said. [link to ktla.com (secure)] Interesting, County Sheriffs don't generally operate across county lines. I'm hearing this may have links to a recent notorious death in Palmdale but no legit confirmation yet- will retitle and update with details if verified. Otherwise never mind. 9:57 PM: Deceased male shot by LASD identified as the half brother of black male Robert Fuller who was found hanged last week in Palmdale. Sheriffs were there in response to a kidnap report called in by the woman who was wounded in the shoot out. This is the way the world ends. This is the way the world ends. This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang but with a whimper. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77887909 Thank goodness the deputies are OK and that they didn't get killed by that criminal. Peculiar. If the woman who called in the kidnapping report called 911 the call would have gone to the Kern County Sheriff Department who has an office right there in town, not LASD in Lancaaster 14 miles south. Maybe her cell was connected to a different tower and it got routed based on that? |
