You must have bad eyesight - he was clearly turned and pointing something at the officer that was behind him. There was also a flash from that very same area and only then did the officer change weapons and fire. Wow all the news stories about Atlanta police quitting are disappearing from the search feeds.
I can only find stories about how it is normal for 2-6 officers to quit per month, or that some officers called in sick only.
Tonight is going to be interesting.
I am guessing that this was not supposed to happen.

Cops should be enforcing laws and not legalalities. The shit show going on now is because the police were there to enforce legal amendments. Passing counterfeit fiat currency? See the FedRes.org. Passed out in your car in the drive thru? See Prison Industry.

Cops aren't there for your welfare. They serve and protect Corporations and illegal edicts passed against our will.

But let Atlanta burn over it. The govt needs to held responsible for their actions, and the police need to quit raising money for the municipalities they work in by enforcing code instead of laws.

If I was a police officer I would not take it.
I would stay home.
But then again, I am a truck driver. I will not go there now.
I will not go to Seattle. I will not deliver in Minneapolis.
I do not care for anyone's sensitive natures. If my life is forfeit because of the violence that is allowed to happen in liberal cities then I will exercise what control I have over my own life and not go there. These places can starve until they smarten up. It is not white privilege it is civilization and if you do not want to be civilized then you can live with out civilities like your just in time delivery system and law and order.

How do you make people realize they're living in a hell of their own making? Do nothing and let their cities burn. They'll figure it out when they're starving or figure out when they're homless but one way or another, they'll figure it out.

Atlanta police shortages continue for second day


The morning after an unusual number of police officers called out sick, only two sergeants and one officer showed up in one of Atlanta's six police zones, according to police officers who don't want to be named.

The shortages come in the wake of the Fulton County district attorney bringing charges against two officers who were involved in the deadly shooting of Rayshard Brooks.

On Wednesday, multiple sources within the Atlanta Police Department told CNN that officers were not responding to calls in three of the department's six zones.

Though the department denied that was the case, a police union director backed CNN's sources' accounts and said that, in some instances, officers were refusing to leave their precincts unless a fellow police officer required backup.
The police department said an unusual number of officers working the late shift had called out sick. The mayor said the city would be OK.
