The is good out there too. I was loading my groceries this afternoon, and a very elderly white lady was struggling to extract a cart from the cart return. A young, black gentleman assisted her. Incredibly polite, addressed her as ma'am, and even offered to help her cross the drive through area of the parking lot.

Then again, this is also small town Texas, and not New York.
