THE FRAGMENTED COOKIE COMES TO LIFE ONCE AGAIN

There was once a cookie that crumbled. It found itself scattered all over the parking lot, for a little child had dropped it out the window of a moving vehicle. The child cried but the cookie was gone to her.

Now, it seems that this cookie had a consciousness all of it's own. Slowly but surely, it managed to gather it's fragmented pieces by any means it could. Actually, the big machine parking lot sweeper helped a great deal without even knowing it was helping the poor fragmented cookie. Slowly, each day as the sweeper came by, another piece of the cookie was gathered and they were taken to the same dump. As the cookie fragments began to decompose, they talked to each other. It was so lovely just being together, even if separated. They wondered how would they ever become one cookie again.

Many days came and went. The sweeper kept sweeping and finally all the pieces were gathered in one place. Then it rained. The cookie pieces slowly disintegrated into pieces of mush and were absorbed into the earth.

After a very long time, this dump was buried just like all the previous dumpsites. Many years passed and along came someone who bought up the now rejuvenated land. It was a farmer just beginning out and he planted a crop of wheat in the freshly plowed field.

Ah! The consciousness of the cookie came alive. It provided nourishment for the wheat or fed the wheat as it grew. One day, the wheat was harvested. It went to market, was re-formed into flour and sent to a grocery store where a loving Mom bought it to bake cookies for her little girl.

The little girl was so happy. Her Mom was taking her to the park. As she was eating her cookie in the car, singing out the window, she was holding her cookie out the window. It dropped out of her hand. She cried.

Little did she know that she had unknowingly taken part in the long process of the fragmented cookie coming to life once again.
