Power was out for 3 days and we had to fight the fire at our back fence because it moved so fast the firemen were overwhelmed !! It was crazy all the freeways were closed and there was no where to evacuate to except towards the coast. From where it started out in East County it hit the water at the coast within 12 hrs. If I remember right it took out about 3000 homes !! |

I remember Santee residents helped prevent Cowles from burning, which saved us. More fires happening too right now. SDFD @SDFD · 17m There are a few spot fires east of Interstate 15 near Pomerado Road. Crews in brush engines are making their way to the fires. Fires are also being attacked from the air. The OTHER fire is in the Sycamore landfill, and is less than 5 acres, and not threatening anything. . I heard the release of aircraft, but hadn't heard it was held.
