Yes, the advent of red hair across the world through original slavery of the Irish people.

A history so pushed aside because the Irish are a proud people who know their heritage came from the efforts to build a better life from their own hands.

they do not seek out a handout or protest via acts of violence, nor do they discriminate against other cultures and the lands they came from, no. they indeed celebrate through a day of Green and a huge party that all are invited too.

never will you get to be told by the Irish that their is no service for you because your skin is different than theirs.

the Irish are the down trodden of the Anglo Saxon culture, but they are the greatest of that culture too.

They came as slaves; vast human cargo transported on tall British ships bound for the Americas. They were shipped by the hundreds of thousands and included men, women, and even the youngest of children.

During the 1650s, over 100,000 Irish children between the ages of 10 and 14 were taken from their parents and sold as slaves in the West Indies, Virginia and New England. In this decade, 52,000 Irish (mostly women and children) were sold to Barbados and Virginia.

Irish slavery is a subject worth remembering, not erasing from our memories.

Comparing Vikings to recent history and continued oppression under the same government structure that created the unequal balance of individual freedoms in our country is the exact reason we are where we are today. UK had to deal with the Saxons, then the Vikings, then the Normans. It was centuries of viking-like ass kickers tearing up their islands. The payouts are going to be huge.

I have Saxon, Viking and Norman ancestors so I'm dealing with a fair amount of Viking guilt at the moment.
