More on this subject:

England’s “Irish Slaves” Meme: The Numbers
By Liam Hogan, June 10, 2016

They came as slaves; vast human cargo transported on tall British ships bound for the Americas. They were shipped by the hundreds of thousands and included men, women, and even the youngest of children.

During the 1650s, over 100,000 Irish children between the ages of 10 and 14 were taken from their parents and sold as slaves in the West Indies, Virginia and New England. In this decade, 52,000 Irish (mostly women and children) were sold to Barbados and Virginia.

In time, the English thought of a better way to use these women (in many cases, girls as young as 12) to increase their market share: The settlers began to breed Irish women and girls with African men to produce slaves with a distinct complexion. These new “mulatto” slaves brought a higher price than Irish livestock and, likewise, enabled the settlers to save money rather than purchase new African slaves.

England continued to ship tens of thousands of Irish slaves for more than a century. Records state that, after the 1798 Irish Rebellion, thousands of Irish slaves were sold to both America and Australia.

Irish slavery is a subject worth remembering, not erasing from our memories.

But, where are our public (and PRIVATE) schools???? Where are the history books?

Why is it so seldom discussed?

Most were indentured? Not slaves per se?

Also English were slaves to Romans, and Irish in past history. Irish captured English, Welsh etc (St Patrick). English captured Irish, Welsh, Scot etc etc.

100%
From my memory from history class, St Patrick was Welsh and was taken as a slave to Ulster in the north of Ireland to tend to cattle.

“You must understand. The leading Bolsheviks who took over Russia were not Russians. They hated Russians. They hated Christians. Driven by ethnic hatred they tortured and slaughtered millions of Russians without a shred of human remorse. The October Revolution was not what you call in America the ‘Russian Revolution.’ It was an invasion and conquest over the Russian people. More of my countrymen suffered horrific crimes at their bloodstained hands than any people or nation ever suffered in the entirety of human history. It cannot be understated. Bolshevism was the greatest human slaughter of all time. The fact that most of the world is ignorant of this reality is proof that the global media itself is in the hands of the perpetrators.”

I'm sorry, but if you are still "struggling with slavery," I'm still struggling with when the Vikings invaded England in the 8th Century and enslaved my relatives.

They stole our lands, burned our fields and assaulted our women. I blame all my current failures on Vikings.

why don't you compare it to the holocaust to be completely off base. We are only 3-4 generations removed from it in the states. Viking invasion was probably more like 1400-1600

What difference does it make how long ago it happened? No black person alive today was a slave and more than likely, their grandparents weren’t either, so what’s your point?

I am Sicilian, my husband's family are from northern Italy. We are Italian thru and thru, with dark hair. I have bluish-green eyes, sometimes looks brown.

And then there's the youngest of my three sons. ;) He has strawberry blond hair, the 'red head complexion', complete with lots of freckles, and piercing blue eyes. People don't believe him when he says he is Italian. lol O.o They look from him to me, sideways, lol and wonder what the mailman looked like, back in the day. O.o ;)

Digging thru ancestor records, we find that more than one Viking was in my Sicilian ancestry. O.o

So yeah.. we are struggling with that, same as you OP.

Found this site, which explains that .... "it is believed that the Vikings colonized northern France and, later, southern Italy and Sicily."

Which could explain my red headed son, and several of his red headed ancestors up the line from Sicily, with a sprinkling of dark haired blue/green eyed ancestors.

It's like Karma (the eastern version).

If your husband beats you in this life it is because you were a wife beater in a past life. Not to worry because your wife beating husband will come back (reincarnated) as a beaten wife which necessitates some one coming back as a wife beater and it never ends.

These people are upset about past lives of slaves but it's not their past lives.

Also as it has been shown by so many on this post who have made a break from the tragedies of the past, If they don't "move on" this will never end.

UK had to deal with the Saxons, then the Vikings, then the Normans. It was centuries of viking-like ass kickers tearing up their islands. The payouts are going to be huge.

I have Saxon, Viking and Norman ancestors so I'm dealing with a fair amount of Viking guilt at the moment.
