I am totally outraged as a Pole and as an American! Gen. Kosciuszko fought in the Revolutionary War, yearning freedom for African slaves in US, was cited as "pure son of liberty" by Thomas Jefferson. Kosciuszko left his American estate to buy the freedom of black slaves, including Jefferson's own, and to educate them for independent life and work. In September 1817, shortly before his death in October, he wrote a letter to Jefferson mentioning the bequest - "...of which money, after my death, you know the fixed destination."

The “protesters” in the US have vandalized the statue of Tadeusz Kosciuszko in Washington DC. What these “protesters” seem to forget, or probably never even knew, was that he not only helped the US win its independence, he was also anti slavery and freed slaves whenever he could.
Kosciuszko fought more than any of his US contemporaries to rid the US and the world from slavery. Even in his will he dedicated all of his US assets to the education and freedom of US Slaves. And this was how these Black Lives Matter "protesters" repaid him.
