President Trump taunted CNN as the network’s Atlanta headquarters was attacked by rioters, retweeting a supporter who noted what she called the “irony” of the violence.

Trump retweeted conservative supporter “Melissa A.,” who snarked that the network was “being attacked by the very riots they promoted as noble & just.”

The retweeted post included a video clip of hundreds of protesters, some of whom scrawled graffiti — including the words “F— Trump” — on a giant CNN logo and busted the building’s glass entrance.

PROTESTERS attacked the CNN headquarters in Atlanta, as demonstrations against the killing of George Floyd spread throughout the USA

Hundreds of demonstrators gathered outside the entrance of the media giant’s main offices in the city and smashed windows. Police vehicles were also targeted and set on fire by angry crowds, as the protests threatened to spiral out of control. Police in riot gear have been called in to try and restore order.

The riots come in the wake of death of George Floyd during an altercation with police in Minneapolis.

Mr Floyd was filmed being arrested by police officers on Monday.

He was forced to the ground, while an officer knelt on his neck.

Mr Floyd could be heard pleading with the law enforcement official, telling him he could not breathe.
