Damn, that's a lot of aftershocks.

Imagine Calif as a large plate glass window, and someone threw a brick through it.

Actually, that is a common aftershock sequence after a 6.5 earthquake. Should be quite a few high 4s and low 5s; largest aftershock should be in the 5.5 range, maybe a little higher.

The time to worry is when you don’t have such an aftershock sequence OR you are getting additional quakes very close in magnitude to the first one (that would be a quake swarm OR possibly even indicate pre shocks.

That said, I believe for a quake in this range there is always at least a 5% chance of it being a pre-shock to something bigger.

The 6.5 was 2.8 km and most after shocks are under 10km in depth.

Mono lake which is not far, has been active for the last 6 months with daily quakes (Just east of Mono), which is surrounded by extinct cones and right next to Long's valley Caldera at Mammoth mountain, source of one of the 5 all time largest eruptions ever and very active. Gabbs valley is a massive mineral deposit just north.

The 6.2 was followed by a 5.8 and then a 5.2 between Tonga and Samoa. I'm seeing it on [link to quakes.globalincidentmap.com] but not on [link to earthquake.usgs.gov (secure)]

Where is a link the USGS is showing only a 4.6 not 6.4?
