The Biggest Ever BitTorrent Leak: MediaDefender Internal Emails Go Public
Why not release a 'product for public consumption'and for the people who have the money release a 'different version that is more like the 'master copy' that has all the tracks still intact' (if you want to hear just one singer or one instrument you just mute the other tracks), paying customers should get some video to go along with the sound, even if it is 'shot while recording'.

At what point should there be a 'public domain policy'? I would hate to spend thousands of $ in fines just because I thought keeping a recording of the first broadcast of the 'Beverly Hillbillies' because I fund it to be the best of the series ( and paid x #$ to see the subsequence seasons).

Put an ad in the recording (from the Studio or the Band), something that allows a legal recording that can be traded, that would benefit both the Studio and the Artist.

Most works of writings can contain short references without being 'pirated'.

Money being the bottom line for any business, put out a better product (secure) and customers will still buy it while still allowing those without those finances to enjoy (at a reduced quality) the music.
