I'm Curious About Something, and Wonder If You Guys Would Be Intersted In Helping Me Find This Out??

There is something of a serious nature that I'd like to ask you guys. It is also of a personal nature, so feel free to respond if you want to. You can even respond as an AC, but I think that I might be onto something here...

I've often attributed my ability to think outside the box and my tendency to lean toward conspiracy theories to my upbringing as a child. I suffered much abuse, both physically and sexually by close family memebers whom I trusted. I can remember specifically the shock I felt at the time that someone who professed to love me could also hurt me so deeply

While I can't conduct an official pole, it would be interesting to know how many that frequent this website were also abused as children by an authority figure whom they trusted. It could be a family member or anyone whom you deemed to be in a trusted position of authority over you, such as a parent or another family member even an older sibling, a police officer, a teacher, a priest etc. You can just say you were abused, you don't have to state which type of abuse. I'll leave that up to you. [Keep in mind though, that by "abuse" I'm not talking about your typical parental spanking or being put on restriction for extended periods of time], while some of you might feel that constituted abuse, I'm talking about physical and sexual abuse to the extreme. Something that happened to you that shook you to your very core and really shocked you that someone you loved and trusted so much could really hurt you in a way that you would never forget.

I'm curious if these types of things can plant a seed in us that, as an adult, would lead us to not just blindly trust who or what we are told by our government or anyone in authority over us as adults.

I think it would be an interesting study to find out if we all have this trait in common, or how many of us do.

As stated, I realise this is a very personal topic and so feel free to bow out or just lurk if you feel like it. Thanks for your participation.

Oh and most of you pretty much know me by now and I would hope that my years here have afforded me some level of trust that I am not some gov. spook out to find out all of your skeletons. This is strickly for my own research to test my theory about my own tendency to lean toward things this website talks about.
