Most musicians, highly successful or not, live normal lives off of the stage. They eat, sleep, relax, play with their kids & pets, grocery shop, go to Lowe's and Home Depot, get dirty planting flower gardens, put their pants on one leg at a time, pee and shit just like everyone else.
They do for a living what they have a talent for, what they studied and practiced to do, just like most people. A large majority of them started singing and playing in church and school. Some performers and bands are who they are 24/7 at home or on stage. Others make theater of the stage, but not at home.

Lyrics rarely have any deeper meaning that what the lyrics are. Often, lyrics are what they are because they rhyme, are well suited to the melody, or simply fill the space. Lyrics may come from real life, a movie or tv show, a news story, a setting, a mood. Deeper meanings are what an audience attributes to them, but rarely the artist. Songs are as likely to be written on the toilet as they are in a home studio.

They are often invited places by people who look more important to others if the musicians show up. That doesn't mean that those musicians are part of that social circle. More often than not, they'd rather be at home.
