You are correct but I believe the correct term you were looking for to adequately describe how this virus was manipulated is the term “MODIFIED” not engineered which suggests it was completely manufactured synthetically from scratch

Biological was added and distributed to the lab because they had a reputation with 2 previous "accidents".

China covered up the 3rd "accident" out of pride and to keep supplies for themselves.
