We Texans are thrilled. The point of the lockdown was to "flatten the curve" not hide out from the virus. Hospitals are empty. There is no reason to stay closed. Texas gave up on this BS a couple weeks ago anyway. Before Easter it's been mostly business as usual. A few masks. If you are elderly, immunocompromised or just scared, you can mask up or stay home. I am elderly and I ain't gonna be staying home, I ain't been staying home and I ain't gonna be wearing no stinking mask. |

His order also supersedes local orders so Persidio can't make people wear masks under threat of arrest and heavy fines now. Short term rentals were not mentioned in the new guidance so guessing hotel/motels and Airbnb businesses will remain closed. Still advising 65 and over to use a mask, stay home and avoid crowds. |

As long as our hospitals don't get overwhelmed, we should be okay to start opening things up slowly. Of course, I will not be partaking in movie theaters, malls or restaurants, but I rarely do that anyhow. Quoting: PrezofTX Good luck to you all. That is good of you, PrezofTX. Nothing really changed except lots of places not open as long and curbside service. But online ordering curbside service is totally fubar. Next we will super definitely control our destiny as we forcibly inject highly toxic vaccines into children and adults alike! When the children inevitably die in droves we will celebrate... Texas Style! Oh man... Most Texans I figure have disregarded this COVID-19 Plandemic the best they can. I know I have. Unfortunately you gotta stay home as often as you can. Not because I want to, but because there ain't no goddamn place go fucking go!!! For any Texans who have been able to go up to every one of their favorite places over the course of this Plandemic BS then congrats. You have done so much better than me and so many other Texans because your town did not follow through with the Plandemic BS. I think restaurants and malls will open. But, I doubt movies will until the 15 of May. These establishments may operate at 25% capacity and lets face it. These businesses will push it 50%. But movie theater can't get away with that. It will not be worth movie theaters to open with 25% with too few in attendance. It would be funny to see drive in movies come back in fashion, but realistically it could happen. |

Our community is also taking it very seriously and following Dallas' lead. We have had people die here that worked at restaurants that were providing carry-out to cars. We have lost store workers that were young and healthy. I am fairly new to Texas, but, what I have seen is an intelligent, calm, well-planned and executed group of people that can think for themselves, mostly. I don't know why the rest of the country still imagines this state as a bunch of cowboys with spurs on that are just there to 'fire 'em up'. I am quite fond of cowboys, but, they are also largely intelligent and capable of thinking. Where we live at least 50% of the people have on masks while at the grocery store. I would be amazed if they all just poured into restaurants. |
