Why not CRISPR?
Anyone familiar with CRISPR? It's a tech that was discovered in 1987 by Japanese scientists. Without going into specifics it is a bacteria that can be paired with enzymes like CAS9 to mutate genomes. Originally it was only used to mutate DNA but in recent years the technology has expanded into the mutation of RNA as well.

I heard a great episode on NPR a few years ago talking about how cheap the tech is to acquire and to work with for someone who has expertise in chemistry/biology. The segment talked about the likely hood of basement biohackers using the tech to modify their own genomes or the potential of black market labs being able to do nefarious things with it like targeting the genomes of specific ethnicities. The segment also talked about it's potential to cure us of viruses, genetic defects, diseases etc...

In March of this year human trials started using CRISPR to seek out the human genome, snip out a segment of the genome associated with genetic blindness and replace that segment with a segment that would reverse genetic blindness. This medicine was administered by injecting the CRISPR cells directly into the ocular cavity where it will go about mutating every piece of human DNA that it finds. One of the big pharma corporations has recently patente this tech to correct genetic blindness. This tech will create a NEW revenue stream and I am sure it will be very very profitable.

Which leads me to my next question. Why aren't we using this to seek out coronaviruses, flu viruses, HIV viruses within the human body and mutating the genomes of these viruses so that they no longer function and no longer reproduce within their human hosts? Think of a nebulizer that you use during cold and flu season to introduce billions of CRISPR cells into your body to hunt down and destroy the various viruses that attack us every winter. If we can use this tech to mutate the human genome why not the genome of dangerous viruses?

You are behind the china ball Yu Suck Dong.
Or is this another china disinformation post. Hmm.

China has been genetically messing with babies for years now doing just what you describe.

China cooks up bat juice and injects it into the world.

Fuck China.

Let me get this straight. Since crazy China uses CRISPR to create GMO babies we can't use CRISPR to kill viruses?

That would be like saying people shouldn't own hammers because some psychopath murdered his family with one.
