User ID: 45716769 Netherlands 04/15/2020 02:04 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So sad that you and the family had to go through such a roller coaster and even your nanny not be able to even be there to say goodbye or hug him for the last time. No one should ever need to go through this. But you wére with him Sim, through your heart, the music you played for him with all the songs he loved so much. And your nanny sleeping in his t-shirt. You know, your Papa felt your presence, all of it. I am sure of that. He was a very remarkable, kind and loving man and his love and memories will never leave your heart, nor that of nanny or anyone in your family. I know it hurts more than words can express, but Papa will brighten Heaven above and make it an even more loving place. His star will never fade. Not there and not here. And you know you have friends to lean on, always. |

Your granny ok??? Chloroquine apparently is effective when used early on in an infection. In turn, ventilators appear to be a poor way of getting oxygen into a person. They seem to merely more quickly spread the virus further into the lungs and other organs. Not totally sure if my descriptions are accurate, as they're an interpretation of info from a layman's standpoint. Only thing I can say to the OP is imagine how such tragedies are to all the people who've lost much younger family members or seen them in fatal accidents or, worse, murdered. |

It’s very odd that he passed away but the people he lived with are fine. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78739511 Did he receive an annual flu vaccine or any recent vaccines? Is there anything setting him apart from the rest of your family? I know that nanny & papa both got their flu vaccines in October 2019. I don't believe they've had any other vaccines recently. ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

Nanny is a mess. hm. are you sure they used the malaria drug? maybe they missed a part of the protocol, like zpac or zinc? odd given the hundreds of patients is has worked on that have been reported to work within hours with zero deaths. was he put on a ventilator? Yes, he had been on a ventilator since March 29th. ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

User ID: 78167638 United States 04/15/2020 02:13 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: Simple27 I know of the hydroxychloroquine treatment. I'm not sure of the intravenous C. I was only able to see his test results on his patient portal. I couldn't see meds they were giving him, but the doctor told us about the hydroxychloroquine. Getting info was not easy while he was hospitalized. :\ What did the doctor say about hydroxychloroquine? All that I know is that he was treated with it. My grandmother was still getting the calls/updates from the doctor at that point and she was having a hard time remembering everything they were telling her. Nanny told me they were using it around the 29th. It must not be a very long treatment because the next time I asked her about it she said that he had finished that treatment and that he was put on a new antibiotic for the infection. We don't know which antibiotics they tried all-in-all, but we do know they tried hydroxychloroquine. By the time they tried this, papa was in ICU, in really rough shape. He did show some improvements along the way though. We got a lot of mixed messages from the doctors/nurses. Just a few days ago we were told that he was showing improvement and progressing in the right direction. And then today happened. It seems my papa is one of those who has the virus wreak havoc on their system. Do you know how utterly insincere the energy you're projecting is right now? Do you think you can hide behind your screen and not be exposed as a bullshit artist? go away far far away I control the water |

Yes, he had been on a ventilator since March 29th. the clots in the lungs returned ...5 days of hc is the minimum but the damage may have already been done before he even got on the vent. Did they lay him flat with hi flow o2...its the most recent attempt that seems to work but only if enough of the lung is still getting bloodflow..but once the lungs are clotted its pretty much a lost cause. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 74844930 How does it feel to know that it is quite likely that this is a bio-engineered "gain of function" virus, either for vaccine research or as a weapon and it took your grandpa's life? I would be f'n resentful and FURIOUS! I could see being sad but at peace with a chance natural flu - but this is something different. I've got a whole lot of feelings going on. I was never a 'just the flu' person so I understand what you're saying. I assume you understand my answer. ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78797821 United States 04/15/2020 02:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | With a broken heart I share the news of the passing of my grandfather (papa) due to COVID-19 complications. My family is so devastated right now and we all need some prayers. Quoting: Simple27 Due to the current restrictions, this incredibly wonderful man died without any of us being able to be by his side. That part hits me the hardest. My nanny (grandmother) is shattered. They were together since they were 13 years old. They were just as in love now as they were then. They were the perfect example of true love. Nanny has been sleeping with one of his t-shirts while he has been in the hospital. A little history... Papa started having symptoms on Monday, March 23rd. By Thursday, March 26th the symptoms had gotten bad and my nanny had to call 911. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was admitted and officially tested for the virus. He tested positive. [link to imgur.com (secure)] Nanny had given me papa's online patient portal login information while he was in the hospital which is why I have access to that above screenshot. Friday, March 27th they had to put him on oxygen and by Sunday, March 29th he was on a ventilator. There have been so many ups and downs since the 29th. Even more so in just this past week. But today the doctor said papa's body had stopped fighting and that they were going to take him off the ventilator as there was nothing more they could do for him. He said it wouldn't be long after papa came off the ventilator, and he was correct sadly. Papa passed away within hours. They said they kept him sedated and comfortable. Papa didn't deserve this painful, lonely death. He was 78 years old, mostly healthy. He has a great-grandson being born in July (my sister's baby). I just ask that you keep us in your thoughts and prayers. This is so very hard. Even harder because we can't be together during this time. :( :s27angel7: My sincere condolences. We should all be saddened by the deaths of our elders be they someone else's, or our own. -IDW |

I spent the last few days of my Fathers life with him in the hospital in August. Thankful now it happened before this mess. I think i would have broke in some how to see my Dad. So sorry your Papa had to go through this alone. I pray for his soul that it goes straight to heaven and that he has eternal life and for your mom and all of you to deal with this tragic loss. Damn this virus. |
