So I will add here: I'm a bit of a suntard myself, and I can honestly say I don't think this Anomally is being caused by the sun...? There is a coronal hole, but it's not big enough or producing enough solar wind to do something like this. And there is no geomagnetic storm right now - KP levels are very low - at KP1 right now, which means no real activity. Sun is entirely blank, no sunspots, and no flares. It does look like there was a very minor backside CME, but was not earth-directed. Which makes this all the more strange... what the..? Time to do some more research.
