Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77222866 The first known case of Spanish Flu was reported at a military base in Kansas on March 11, 1918. Nobody knows exactly where it started but it was definitely 1918. In November 1917, there were 96,000 chinamen that died with the spanish flu. It's HIGHLY likely that was the origination. Check out my link above. Did you check out the CDC link? It's the Spanish flu, also known as the 1918 Flu Pandemic. The only person I have ever heard calling it the 1917 Flu Pandemic is Donald Trump. Uh, someone ‘knows” exactly where it started. Seems like Trump might be sending that message to other people who “know” when he calls it the “1917” pandemic. Multi domain warfare going on, under the surface of being polite- for now. Nice try but guesses don't make it a fact. Nobody knows where the Spanish flu came from. Some say Kansas some say China some say Europe. |

Quoting: Maguyver No. It began somewhere in the Shangxi province in China some time in 1917. It showed up in the West in january 1918. Happy to clear that up for you! The first known case of Spanish Flu was reported at a military base in Kansas on March 11, 1918. Nobody knows exactly where it started but it was definitely 1918. In November 1917, there were 96,000 chinamen that died with the spanish flu. It's HIGHLY likely that was the origination. Check out my link above. Your article doesn't say that. It says they died from something that caused similar symptoms it also says further down in the article that they basically has no proof. What we do know is the virus was first discovered in 1918. We call the current virus we're dealing with Covid 19 because that's when it was discovered. Even if Covid-19 started somewhere in 2018 we would still call it Covid-19 because that's when it was discovered. That is exactly why it is called the Spanish Flu or the 1918 Flu Pandemic. Yet Trump consistently calls it the 1917 Flu Pandemic, over and over. |

Most people don't focus on specific dates, other than dumb democrats who get all excited and work up a sweat over it...lol Next, he will be using the date 1775.. because who cares about dates, right??? LOL. Stop covering for the moron. Why do you suddenly care about dates democrat? Your stupid "comrades," have been literally removing historic markers that involve real history and specific dates. Don't you have some statue to topple over? Yeah, real patriots don't care about accurately quoting history or dates. Who cares. Kind of like Donald Trump's account of Ivanka's history of job creation. [link to www.godlikeproductions.com] |

And sufficiently close enough to the top of your list to make an excuse for Donald Trump erroneously calling it the 1917 Flu Pandemic. Maybe it had a little help getting starting in 1917 and the history will come out later. People back then weren't completely uneducated. But were just as evil.. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 77104996 United States 04/08/2020 08:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm tired of hearing about pre-existing conditions. We believe it is possible our entire family got COVID-19 the end of February. Out of 5 people the 12 year old was the most sick. Fever 104.0, massive headache, sore throat and dry cough. Her little body had aches beyond the normal flu. My husband had barely any symptoms, no fever etc. He just felt like an elephant was sitting on his chest and he felt like he could take in enough oxygen when he breathed. Didn't matter if he was still or moving, it felt the same. This stopped after a week and he was just super lethargic after that. I had mild fever, headache and difficulty breathing with a minor cough. Same for the other two family members. The crazy thing is that my husband has a major heart condition and diabetes....but he only had minor symptoms. I have an autoimmune illness but the same, only minor symptoms. The one that got it the least is healthy as an ox. Besides that my son and his wife got it. Both are identical in illness, with severe asthma and long history of pneumonia. My daughter in law is going into three weeks without any sign of recovery. Bad symptoms but not enough for her to be considered critical and hospitalized. She has tested positive. My son was not tested as his wife has it so he was just considered positive. He had a very mild fever and chest tightness/heaviness for 3 days. He has been great for over a week now. This is bullshit about pre-existing conditions and they should know this. What the hell makes it different for some...severe, mild or symptom-less? I think they know and are bullshitting us. |
