I think the title of the article is misleading. It sounds like only one liquor store chain is closing.

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board has announced that all Fine Wine & Good Spirits stores and licensee service centers across the state will be closed indefinitely after 9 p.m. Tuesday and the online store closed 5 p.m. Monday.

Here at PA, only the state gov't sells bottles of liquor. It's illegal for anybody else to. FWGS is the state-run chain.

No. This is statewide. The capital in Harrisburg made the decision. The liquor stores are state run. State employed. It’s non essential under the governor’s guidelines.

Not misleading at all. PA resident here. Our liquor is all sold by one chain. Yeah we have private beer distros, but liquor is all state run stores. Gonna grab a few handles of cheap Crown Russe on my way home if I can

I went to college in Pittsburg. At that time I think Allegheny county was rated as the highest or second highest consumers of alcohol per capita.

Good luck finding anything if you haven't already got it. I went last night after work right after it had just been announced and the place was packed. I've got more than enough stocked up but figured a couple more bottles couldn't hurt. I got the last 4 fifths of the cheapest vodka they had. This is in a town of about 1200. The place was almost sold out.

People looked scared. Genuinely scared, even more than when there was no meat left in the grocery store over the weekend.

Shit just got real here in pa.
