Brazil COVID19 journal
I honestly believe that things are gonna get real crazy, real quick here. So I'll keep you guys informed, as often as I can and as honest as one can be.

Lets cut it right to the point: Brazilians are, in general, very dumb and narrow minded. Not as if people from other countries aren't, but brazilians are a special case of dumb. What I hear, much more often than I would like to, from almost everyone is the denial arguments. "Its just a flu", "Only old people really are in danger", "There are people being cured" and all that. Memes run wild, jokes everywhere on all social networks. Nobody seems to give a shit about it, until it knocks on their own door. It happened to our president. For him, it was "fake news", "exaggeration", "not so bad", then it went to very serious when someone real close to him(a secretary of some shit), got positive diagnostic.

Religious fanatics are in awe. They are selling all kind of stuff "blessed hand sanitizer", "strong protection prayers" and so on, all for modest fees of 100 dollars each(minimum).

The fact is, these people can't see 2 inches from their own faces. Brazil is a poor country, we just can't afford much of basically anything. With the stock market nose diving and the dollar close to 5 of our currency, things tend to become much more expensive as weeks go by. Gas goes up, so does everything, because everything depends on being transported by trucks. I work with IT, so most of my co-workers are ok on home office. They just can't fathom that we are privileged on this regard. Most other professions can't. With no work, there is no production. Brazil is very good on work laws, so if the company one work for calls that nobody should come, the workers must be paid anyway. Remember, this is a poor country, most businesses live on the razor's edge constantly and the vast majority would not be able to afford paying all workers without producing(and therefore, selling) anything.

We had many events in the past where we got to the brink of anarchy with simple things. Truck drivers strike and police strike for example. One week and there were already pillaging on shops and grocery stores. If things get really bad, this will happen everywhere and I will inform you of everything I hear or read about.

I got a BoL. So far, things are not yet to the point to bugout, but if need be, I can be there in less than 2 hours and live for many months in there, along with my family.

Confirmed cases double every 2 days more or less. Predictions by respectable health and infectology agencies, say that we could get to the millions of infected here, in a matter of two months. The public health system, although free for any citizen, is very, very precarious. Hospitals struggle on empty inventories and badly paid workers with long hours. If things get to this point, I'm afraid doctors will have to play real life "Sophie's choice".

Its plausible. The brazilian staffer that infected Miami's mayor, also had close contact with Trump, including physical.

Government restricted visitation on jails. Prisoners rebelled and about 1000 in total escaped already as rebellion continues.
