U.S. Special Forces are Training the Taiwanese Military for War

Are U.S. Special Operations Forces and U.S. Marines quietly training Taiwanese forces in preparation for some kind of war with China?

It is unlikely that the Pentagon would formally confirm this type of operation. The Wall Street Journal was only able to provide details about it through military sources.

China is likely unhappy with the news. A report in the Chinese government-backed newspaper the Global Times says the Chinese Foreign Ministry vowed to take “all necessary measures to safeguard the country’s territorial integrity” regarding their claims to Taiwan. The “US should abide by the one-China principle and stop arms sales to Taiwan,” according to theGlobal Times.

“The one-China principle is the political foundation of China-US relations. . . .In the communiqué on the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the US, the US clearly pledged to only maintain cultural, commercial and other unofficial ties with Taiwan,” the Global Times added.

Should U.S. Special Forces be training Taiwanese troops, then what would they be teaching them? Certainly, Taiwanese military officials would be focused on repelling any kind of Chinese amphibious assault operation, a scenario likely to involve close contact with an arriving enemy. The possibility of a Chinese amphibious assault is one reason why the Taiwanese are acquiring U.S.-built Abrams tanks. Taiwan may need to slow down an approaching amphibious landing long enough to enable the United States and other allies to join the fight. However, apart from the seemingly obvious or self-evident idea that Taiwan would want to stop any kind of Chinese attack, there may be other interesting reasons why U.S. Special Forces might train Taiwanese counterparts. Perhaps small reconnaissance, scout or strike teams could be trained for amphibious warfare operations in small island areas such as the South China Sea. Air-assault raids, mounted vertical maneuver of small units behind enemy lines for intelligence and surveillance missions, or quick strike operations on high-value targets may also be contingencies of significance to Taiwan.

There is an increasingly vital sea-land, island-hopping strategic approach in the Pacific region. This includes the growing exploration of amphibious attack and reconnaissance operations in the South China Sea and other coastal regions and island areas. It seems wise to prepare small special operations-type teams in Taiwan to perform high-risk missions that are at times conducted by Navy SEALs, Green Berets and other Special Operations Forces.

This information is from Shane Connor's wonderful site Ki4u.com, where you can also learn how to put up some modified fallout protection at home if you don't have a shelter. It can save your life.

Thy thyroid absorbs iodine, and fallout is rich in radioactive iodine. It leads to thyroid cancer eventually.

You can buy a bottle of brown liquid povodine iodine solution at Walmart, Target, drug stores, many grocery stores, etc. It is where first aid disinfectants are, like tubes of neosporin. Get some Q tips also.

The bottles are 10% solution, not 2% like the instructions below. I've been experimenting with dear hubs skin and Q tips. Don't dilute it for adults. You need a little over 1/4 teaspoon for 150 lbs, and 1/4 teaspoon for 125 lbs, with the 10%. You really don't want 1.5 teaspoons with 2%.

Put the 1/4 teaspoon in a little bowl and paint it on your forearm or belly where the skin gets the best absorption. It will cover pretty much the whole inside of your arm, which is why I would not dilute the 10%. For a baby you can dilute it if you don't have tiny measuring devices for say 25 lbs needing 1/5 of a quarter teaspoon of 10%. [a teaspoon is about 100 drops, so 1/4 is 25 drops, so you could put 5 drops on a baby]

Do this daily while exposed. Try to evacuate when you can. If you can afford to buy a nuke alert its worth having.

In an emergency, if no more KI tablets available here, you can topically (on the skin) apply an iodine solution, like tincture of iodine or Betadine, for a similar protective effect. (WARNING: Iodine is NEVER to be ingested or swallowed, it is poison to drink.) For adults, paint 8 ml of a 2 percent tincture of Iodine on the abdomen or forearm each day, ideally at least 2 hours prior to initial exposure. For children 3 to 18, but under 150 pounds, only half that amount painted on daily, or 4 ml. For children under 3 but older than a month, half again, or 2 ml. For newborns to 1 month old, half it again, or just 1 ml. (One measuring teaspoon is about 5 ml, if you don't have a medicine dropper graduated in ml.) If your iodine solution is stronger than 2%, reduce the dosage accordingly. Absorption through the skin is not as exact a dosing method as using the tablets, but tests show that it will still be very effective for most.

There has been some research with both humans and dogs into topically (on the skin) applied Povidone-Iodine (10%) solution (such as Betadine� or Povidex� solutions), and also with tincture of iodine, to test the absorption rates of iodine directly, and safely, through the skin.
According to research by Health Physicist Ken Miller, Hershey Medical Center, using 24 healthy adult male subjects, an adult could get a blocking dose of stable iodine by painting 8 ml of a 2 percent tincture of Iodine on the abdomen or forearm approximately 2 hours prior to I-131 contamination. The abstract of his study titled "Effectiveness of Skin Absorption of Tincture of I in Blocking Radioiodine from the Human Thyroid Gland" from Health Physics, June 1989, Vol. 56, No. 6, pages 911-914, states:
"Although there were large variations within each subject group in regard to serum-I levels and thyroid uptakes, the increase in serum-I concentration after topical-I application was effective in reducing the thyroid uptake of I131. The authors conclude that in the absence of KI, most humans would benefit from topical application of tincture of-I, and that in some the effectiveness would equal that of oral KI."
