Anonymous Coward User ID: 78009776 United States 03/23/2020 12:03 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Had to get rid of my posting so I can have more characters. I tend to use them. LOL Sorry it took so long to get back to this thread. Old brain injury so I forget stuff and the titles of the threads get all mixed up when you read so many of them. But I found it again. I am in Metcalfe County. I shop in Barren County in Glasgow along with my little town. I have been at home since the 19th of the month when I went out again to take my girlfriend shopping for her supplies. When I went out on the 16th, there were only limits on toilet paper, bleach, disinfecting stuff. When I went back out on the 19th, there were limits on a whole lot of stuff in some stores. Sav-a-lot didn't have as many limits and actually had almost full shelves. Not so many people shopping but the ones shopping were shopping for themselves and family members that couldn't get out and so they had full carts like us. We were looking for dried pinto beans but all we found were a few bags of northern beans and blackeyed peas left of the beans and she doesn't like those. So I am giving her one of my two bags of pintos. I like other types of beans and prefer kidney beans with rice, honey cornbread and bread and butter pickles. Yummy stuff. The limits were 4 cans of each vegetable and soup. 2 milks, 2 dozen eggs, but most of the limits were for stuff people are storing for the "end of the world". LOL Rice, flour, beans, canned goods. There were a few paper products and the sodas were well stocked. I found a few boxes of disposable gloves at the drug store in my town but I didn't go to any drug stores in Glasgow. People did not seem like they were worried. Just walking around like usual only the potato bin was the lowest I've ever seen it. They still had the stuff for stuffed jalapenos. So we got some of that only she likes the mild italian sausage while I prefer the hot. LOL The little dollar store mart in town is finding it hard to keep eggs, bread and milk. They put limits on that along with limits on disinfectants. But most everything else seemed normal. I expect the dollar store and IGA to stay open in town along with one of the drug stores. The other drug store is delivering your medicines to you so you don't come into town. It's a tiny mom and pop place so they do not have a lot of stuff like a CVS or others have. I am sure the 2 gas stations will be open for you to get gas outside. Even if they are taking cards at the pumps only. As we know, Snaggletooth shut us down today. I am hoping the tobacco store stays open. I asked and was told as long as they can get tobacco delivered and have stock, they plan on it. That's a nasty habit to be breaking right now. LOL Both tobacco stores I go to have drive up windows and so far, that's allowed, even during this shut down. Drive ups and deliveries are still to be happening. I do have enough cat and dog food to last me one month until around the middle of next month or so. I haven't heard from anyone around me and the street is empty of cars. Reminds me of long ago when I was at my grandma's with my cousins and we would walk the roads and woods. Never seen anyone but us unless we came upon someone else's house. But as you knew everyone around.... Long time ago, good memories. And to think I thought it was boring sometimes back then. LOL My mail is still coming and Tuesday, I will know if the trash is still running. Otherwise, life is as normal for me. I'm doing what I always do. The only difference is the silence of the machinery. I'm not hearing any tractors, lawnmowers, cars, trucks, any type of machinery going. I'm hearing birds, bugs, insects, grasses and trees swaying and sighing, the wind and rain. It's going to rain forever it feels like. So being inside is a pain but the sun will come out in the middle of the rainy days and I'm going to enjoy it. The grass is coming up really pretty and I'm thinking about putting in a small garden. The rain makes the ground easier to work if you are using a shovel. Hard ground here in Kentucky. The sand of the Gulf Coast is so easy to dig into compared to this. I think I'm just going to be bored for a few weeks. I have to go and pick up meds mid week unless they decide to mail them but so far, I've still got to pick them up at the pharmacy. And I thought I would pick up some milk while I was out. Cheese cake sounds real good right now. Don't you hate it when you crave what you can not have? Sucks... Cheese cake, mmmm.... |

Redcat User ID: 78210603 United States 03/29/2020 04:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As of Friday there we a total of three (3) cases of COVID-19 treated at UK Hospital. One (1) of these has been been released. This is from authoritative sources. Supposedly there was one case at Baptist Hospital in Lexington. So in Kentucky's second largest city and metro area there have been a total of four (4) cases that required hospitalization as of Friday. Four cases and the city and state are shuttered and people are losing their jobs every day. Time to get back to work Kentucky before the state is destroyed. |
