Malls, gyms, and theaters closing? Are we headed to Kentucky sheltering in place by next week? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 73029781 Pretty much. Well guys, they shut down all sports. That should tell the peasant that they're on their own. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 78009776 United States 03/16/2020 10:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My town has a population of 1500. The county has a total of 10,000 give or take a few. I hit the Dollar store and they were out of eggs and most meats and most vegetables in a can, white sugar, pizzas, most frozen foods, milk, the paper aisle was empty. There was no disinfectant spray. And I was told the one grocery store in town looked the same. I went shopping today because it's the day I always go out, the county next to mine has a bigger town I go to on the 15th and the 3rd of every month for monthly shopping. I ordered some cat and dog food and cat litter last night and went and picked up my order today at Tractor Suppply. The store looked as stocked as usual. I asked if they were going to shut down during this because where we live is farming country and I am sure that the small mom and pop farm supplies will close down. I was told they would remain open until the corporate office told them to shut the doors. They had chickens and ducks so someone has to feed and water them every day. I had to go to three different stores to get the last 4 bags of quinoa, which I found at walmart, which is the expensive place to buy it. I need it because my outside dog can not have any food that causes yeast to grow and this is the only grain she can eat. I make her dog food with it. It may last me a month but more than likely not. Usually 5 days of food a bag because it's has meat and some vegetables too. Walmart was out of most chicken except for some chicken wings, most meats except some fish and turkeys that looked like they were just stocked up. They did have a couple packages of hot italian sausage which I needed one and creme cheese and jalapenos and so I got what I wanted. LOL They were out of disinfectant spray, the paper aisle was empty, lots of shelves were empty. They had a lot of asian foods. Looked like no one touched them. LOL If I had the money, I would have bought a bunch of it for this because I love that stuff but that's not what's on my shopping list today. I talked to a couple Coke delivery guys and they told me that they were very busy and as far as they know, they were going to keep delivering sodas to the stores. The frozen foods were not all sold out but all the margarine at one store was, they had butter. I don't buy margarine but I did find that interesting. I buy butter and was very happy to see they had some along with a big block of colby cheese. Can not live without my dairy. LOL The tobacco store was fully stocked and I hope someone decides that tobacco is one of those essential stores because if not, there are going to be a lot of foul mood people living in the same houses. LOL The store does have a drive thru but I do not expect the one in my town to stay open so I hope the one in the county over does. Or maybe walmart will stock up on some. Walmart will be one of those stores that is open during this entire thing. Supply line big weight. So much weight they take over the suppliers and bikes. They messed up the Schwinn? bikes which were excellent bikes until they started to sell at walmart. They sent walmart a lower grade bike and eventually walmart was ordering so many bikes, they split the company because they couldn't make the low end and high end bikes both. I forget the story but something like that. Sold off the high end part. blah, blah. I'm set for a couple weeks I think. Need more cokes. LOL Looks like my trip to Austin the 19th - 23rd is off. My sister's job is telling her if she leaves the state she lives in, she's fired. She works at a hospital and she told me they already had a patient with the virus. Of course, the bride is not going along with canceling the wedding. She is quite insistent that she gets married when she planned. So unless the place she's having it at cancels, she isn't either. She doesn't care who drops out and the guests and some of the bridal/groom party have dropped out. Getting smaller and smaller all the time. I hope she does get married on the date she wants but it looks like I won't be there. |

User ID: 72370644 United States 03/18/2020 10:35 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Went to two of my local Grocery stores. Both had empty shelves. Meat, canned goods, TP, etc. It’s disturbing to see how many are unprepared for the “what if” and how they freak out buying everything. I did talk to workers and asked if it was a supply disruption. Both stores said no that as soon as they get trucks in, word spreads and in 2-3 hours everything gone. They did say, “not everything in the order is coming” but did not give details of what that is except ice cream, my thought ice cream is the least of This counties concern. If this goes further down hill I’m convinced my lil town will go ballistic. I’m more than ready to shelter in after seeing this today. Hold on to your undies, it's gonna be a hell of a ride |
